Excellant Hotel In Dublin

I recommend this hotel for: Families with teenagers, Families with young children, Tourists, Young singles.
My husband and I traveled around numerous cities in the UK and Ireland and this was by far the nicest accomodation-wise. It was brand new and clean (also the only place with air conditioning). Very much a modern hotel like you would find in the U.S. and was fairly priced. It was a bit of a walk into town but I always felt safe.

Myself and my Partner booked a stay for 4 nights at the hotel hoping for a relaxing break in the Dublin. Upon arrival there was a slight mix up with the rooms but this was quickly and effectively sorted for us. The staff were eager to help and all very friendly. The hotel itself was extremely modern and clean but most of all comfortable. It was a short distance from shops and entertainment. The hotels food itself was very reasonably proced and delicious. Room service was on time everyday with clean towels and bed linen unless you didnt want to be disrubed. i would definately recommend this hotel to my friends.

Cannot compare to North American Comfort Inns, it's far superior!

The Comfort Inn Granby Row was a surprisingly good experience, especially for Dublin. I mention this because it was pointed out to me across travel boards, by friends and even the hotel staff themselves that Dublin and Ireland in general is an expensive destination. In that respect, this Choice Hotel property provided excellent value and comfort for the money. Stayed for 3 nights early July and even though the rate varied, it never went above 99E inclusive of VAT. I didn't find such good value, especially given two of the three nights were week-end nights, at any other Dublin hotel. As it's been mentionned, this property is fairly new. In fact, it's not even a year old and it shows. Lobby and restaurant area which are all open and mixed in together were bright, attractively decorated and as the title of my review suggest, come nowhere near what North American Comfort Inns/Suites look like d?cor-wise. Looks much more upmarket and was very original. It gave this "boutique charm" most CI don't usually have. We had booked a twin-bedded non-smoking room directly on the Choice website and got what we had booked upon arrival. Check-in time is 2 p.m and just be aware that in the summer time, it is unlikely that the room will be ready before that time as the staff pointed out they were close to or sold out for the next few weeks, especially whenever you get close to the week-ends. We arrived from the airport after our overnight flight around 11:30 am only to be sent exploring the city. We did get the room around 2:10 pm and went for a short nap to tough it til the evening. Here are a few good and bad points about the room: POSITIVES: -Everything is and smells new and clean. -Hallways are bright and spacious for a small european hotel. - Elevators remarkably large also and quick (we were on the third floor). Even though our room was virtually next to them, we never heard any machinery or hallway noise and I don't personally sleep that well usually in hotels. -Great shower pressure and fairly large bathroom! -Furniture very modern, plush carpet, flat HD TV and very warm duvet although not feather filled which would have scored extra points. -Towels were huge, fluffy and smelled great! I want that detergent. -Ventilation (central with a duck and not some wall-mounted unit) with A/C works like a charm quietly. NEGATIVES: -We certainly didn't get the largest room in the hotel as per the evacuation plan on the room's door and even by European standards, it was small with about half a meter (if that) clearance around the beds. -Unlike some reviewers pointed out, our beds were certainly not heavenly. Comfortable yes, but nowhere near the standards that have been adopted by Marriott, Hilton family or other major chains in the US/Canada so do not go expecting such a nice comfy/pilowtop mattress. -Had to call the first night after I realized I had a few fairly fresh blood stains on my sheets. The employee who came up to change them appeared appalled and said she would report it to the management but I never had any follow up after that. -Lamp shades and lighting fixtures were piling up dust which I wiped and it flew all over... someone in housekeeping need to take a few minutes for a little spring clean up... The rest of the room was clean though. -Had a fire alarm on our check-out day in the early hours of the morning (6-6:30 am maybe?). We laughed about it as we were indicated to stay in our rooms but it certainly was quite a wake-up call! But that's not something to worry about too much, shouldn't happen every Sunday unless it's the hotel's way of telling customers we need to go to Church. TIPS: -This hotel uses respectful environmental practices such as soap dispensers in the bathroom. They are no packaged toiletries and the creamy soap stuff in the shower actually gets your hair even greasier as it contains lotion. Bring your own shampoo. -There's no sheet in between the duvet and yourself. They'll gladly provide one If you ask. I found the duvet alone to be a little warm. -There isn't much around the hotel so If you'd like to pick up snacks or water, there is a large grocery store "Tesca" on Parnell St about a 5 minute walk tops from the hotel. Staff was generally friendly and approachable and spoke good English. The map of Dublin they provided howewer was a bad and cheap one. Some staff members were good at pointing out attractions and giving directions but at leat half of them were pretty much clueless. I didn't personally find the location that bad at all. It is a short to medium walk to everything, but even the Guinness storehouse was within our legs reach if you like a little walk. Took about 25 minutes at an average pace. The top of O'Connell St. was also 5 minutes away tops by foot. Some said it's situated in a seedy part of town... I absolutely disagree. There's nothing seedy or dangerous about the location. Saw no colourful characters or beggars during the whole stay. Bottom line, this brand new hotel is harsh competition for the price for many of the older Dublin 2-3 star Dublin hotels. They might have a slightly more central location but some of the reviews got me worried that this hotel was a good 10-15 minutes from anything of interest in the city. That clearly wasn't the case. Book with confidence and enjoy your stay! Breakfast at 9.50E, even if it may seem high, was actually the cheapest I experienced in any Irish hotel and had a decent selection WITH fruits!! It's worth taking just for that as the Irish (at least in restaurants) don't seem to enjoy their vitamins for breakfast!

I stayed in this hotel for two nights with my boyfriend this weekend and loved it. The staff were very friendly and helpful at front desk and the hotel bar. The hotel is decorated in a very modern, colourful style so it is really youthful and fun but also tasteful. The rooms are less garish than the decor in the lobby. Our room was quite large, with a king sized bed. The bed was one of the most comfortable hotel beds i have ever had the priviledge to sleep on and the bed linens were very clean and comfortable. There were extra pillows which were lovely and firm and well stuffed - i hate tiny flat hotel pillows. The room was equipped with a nice, very clean, ensuite bathroom with toilet, shower in bath and sink. The shower was nice and powerful and there were big bath sheet sized towels! The room also has a huge tv - local channels and radio as well as Sky News- a hairdryer, iron and ironing board and a local travel book in the drawer. There were open fronted wardrobes but these are cleverly installed to make the room very efficient and there is no fuss. there are also some beautiful black and white photos of the city on the walls in the rooms and on the corridoors which is a really nice touch. The room was not very expensive unlike most dublin hotels and the hotel is perfect placed for exploring the city. I am from dublin and know it very well so i can tell you that you can visit all of the landmarks on foot with ease from this location. This is not billed as a luxury hotel but we were welcomed warmly by the staff and had everything we needed for our stay. you wont get little take away toiletries, a minibar or extensive roomservice but you wont miss these things at all. the hotel bar will sell you a pizza to take to your room, there is dove showergel attached to the wall and the small quiet bar is very pleasant! one warning - there are only about 10 parking spaces in the basement so you must call ahead to reserve one as parking in the area is very expensive otherwise!

Very reasonably priced...with great service. We arrived, on the day of our check-in, at 6:30am due to an overnight flight. Though check-in is not until early afternoon, the men at the desk offered to check us in right away...explaining that they were concerned it was too long for us to wait and most of the city's establishments were closed. Neighborhood a bit off...but nothing to be overly concerned about. Take a left out of the hotel's doors, rather than a right...the left side of the hotel is the "rougher" side. Hotel around the corner from the Dublin Writer's Museum. Very clean. One negative: the bed's are made up only w/ a fitted sheet and duvet- no flat sheet etc. I'm assuming that they don't change the duvet daily...meaning you are sleeping directly under material that another guest slept under the previous night.
