I have sort of mixed feelings about this hotel. The location is very good, only a 10 minute walk from Hakata Station. The lobby is very nice, as well as the outside of the hotel. However, our room was average. We had standard twin beds, a good shower, and LCD TV (which I didn't watch). However, at night I found the walls to be quite thin and I could hear people talking or going in and out of there rooms. Quite annoying for a light sleeper like me. Also, for some reason our flourescent closet light wouldn't turn off, and light came streaming out through the cracks. Our room was so hot because of the heat being set so high I was sweating in my sleep in Nov! Therefore, from outside appearances it sems nice, but inside it's fine or less than fine. I know there must be better out there.

I stayed here with my husband and his family in July 2006. The hotel was very nice. They have western-style rooms, and Japanese-style rooms. My husband stayed in a western-style room with his grandfather, and I stayed in the latter with the rest of the family. The futon beds were surprisingly comfortable, being that I'm not used to sleeping on the floor. The decor was nice, with zen-like plants and stones placed throughout the room. The best part was definitely the bathroom. It was fully stocked with all the essentials, and had a HUGE shower which doubled as a sauna (there was even a stool inside so you could sit down). The shower alone was bigger than my entire bathroom at home. I loved it!!
While we were in Fukuoka, we decided to have some of our luggage shipped to our next destination (Kyoto) so that we wouldn't have to carry everything on the train. The staff was very helpful in getting this done for us. I was a bit worried that with the language barrier the luggage might get lost, but sure enough, it was right there waiting for us when we arrived in Kyoto 5 days later! I would defintely recommend doing this for anyone who is planning to travel Japan via train.
