"Having recently read some of the reviews of this hotel we felt obligated to comment. Having taken an extensive coach tour of Gt. Britain in 2001, we made plans for a return trip and in June 2005 we spent three incredible weeks touring across England, Wales and Scotland. We had made advance hotel reservations..."

My girlfriend booked this trip for us for my birthday weekend - so I looked it up on here to see what we were in for....... then wished I hadn't. From the previous feedback I was worried that it wouldn't be up to much but was very pleasantly surprised. We were given a free upgrade due to a wedding party taking place. The room was very good - size & furnishings / comfort. Extremely clean, and in excellent condition. Bathroom was lovely with power shower & barth. We had 2 windows and overlooked a lawn full of rabbits. Huge telly screen on the wall & a minibar. The reception staff (Adriennc especially) were very welcoming & made good recommendations on local eating places. Breakfast was really wonderful - a cut above the average in quality of the food & on our first morning we were served outside on the terrace. We swam & used the steam room / sauna / gym & Jacuzzi - all in excellent condition & very clean. I would definitely stay here again & recommend it to my friends. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

I was a little shocked to see how poorly The Savill Court Hotel rated on Trip Advisor so wanted to say that I disagree and found my stay fantastic. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left each and every member of staff greeted us with extreme friendliness and respect. Yes, the rooms are a bit smaller but it is an older style house, but they are clean and still attractive. The views and grounds are absolutely stunning and the drive up to the hotel makes you feel very special. We had a great evening meal with delicious food and charming and attentive service and the breakfast the next morning was superb. The hotel was extremely attractive with a large terrace to sit and sip drinks on in the summer, but equally I can imagine the fire in the winter in the Forest Bar must be incredible as it was so huge. All in all I cannot see how our stay could have been improved and if this is how things normally run then this hotel is long overdue a few more positive comments.

Hotel well presented, a bit difficult to find, nice location near a village next to Egham. Had a double room for ?80 a night which was well decorated and equipped, no prices for minibar displayed and wasn't sure if bottled water in room was complimentary or not. Bathroom looked very new. Room clean, but hot, no air con which doesn't bother me if i can open the window - i could, but aircon units from reastaurant run right along under nearly all 1st floor bedroom windows and were very noisy. They got switched off at 11pm and back on at 8am so that was ok with me. Breakfast was nice - a small buffet selection, and cooked-to-order hot options. Attractive bar, good range of reasonably priced bar snacks (same as room service menu). Didn't try the restaurant for an evening meal. Pool looked nice. All staff very friendly. Quick checkout. TV - BBC, ITV, CH4 and CH5, and some sports channels, but no pay films available for when there's nowt else on.

I had to stay at this hotel in March/April 2008 on a business trip as my company is located just around the corner. Coming to the UK I was prepared for the worst as far as hotels are concerned and being so pessimistic turned out to be o.k. as I got what I expected. As usual, all buildings look great from the outside in the UK and even the lobby and the reception area look quite posh. However, as soon as you get into your room, this is all over. O.K., I have to say that the rooms are extremly clean, but that is the only positive thing to be pointed out. The rooms are so tiny that in week 1 there was not even space for my suitcase and I had to leave it by the door resulting in the fact that the door could no longer be opened completely. Apart from this, the windows are not tight so that there is a contstant draft in the room which can be extremly unpleasant in spring. The bathroom and the shower were also absolutely small and I will never understand why there are always two faucets (one for cold water and one for warm water) in English hotels... The reception, bar and restaurant staff for some reason is pretty young which makes a positive impression, however, one could get the feeling that the complete hotel staff only comprises apprentices and trainees as they are acting very inexperienced and unconfident all the time. When I returned in week 2 of my business trip, the reception desk girl repeated the same standard phrase again and explained in detail where to find the bar etc. although I had already told her that I knew all this. Also, incompetence is omnipresent as reception desk staff was unable to provide me with the hotel's phone no. so that I could receive a call from outside in my room! Only after asking 5 times (and apparently getting 5 different numbers) I was successful! To sum it all up, the hotel is in the middle of nowhere and if you don't have a car you are completely stranded, as (for whatever reason) it also seems to be almost impossible to get a taxi there... Also, you can literally leave your cellphone at home as there is hardly a network in the hotel area. At an unreasonably high rate, this appears to be almost comical. Next time I am in this area, I will rather stay at a bed and breakfast, but Savill Court, never again!
