I have stayed at 2 other Counrty Inn and Suites in the past (Millville, NJ & West Bend, WI), both where excellent. So I booked a room here without thinking about it, even after reading the reviews here, wrong choice. The property is dated and not maintaied very well. My room was worn (holes in blackout curtain, stained chairs, faded bed spread, broken lampshades, black mold & heavy dust in HVAC unit). When I checked out the front desk staff was AWOL for almost 10 minutes, I waited for them to retuirn since I needed a receipt. There are many other choices in the area, stay here only ig everyplace else is full booked.

We stayed here on our way to Savannah, GA. We were very disappointed in the condition of the property. The night before we had stayed in another much newer CI&S in Hagerstown, MD. The rooms were clean and beds were good, breakfast was disappointing. We were told there was a hot breakfast. The only hot items were coffee and a waffle. Would not recommend.

From the first phone call to reserve several rooms for a teenage sports team throughout our stay the staff treated us as though we were guests in their home. They went out of their way to assist in all of our needs from extra towels to add on nights at reduced rate despite the fact they were completely booked. The hotel is clean as is the lobby. The free continental plus breakfast was nice as well. They also provided suggestions and directions for restaurants, beauty salons, stores, etc. In our one bedroom "suite" the living room area was very small and dark and the air conditioning did not reach this room. We had a couple of kids sleep on the sofa bed and they said it was really uncomfortable. If you don't need the extra room the regular hotel rooms are much nicer and brighter.

I travel the state of South Carolina for the business which I own. I stay in a hotel about 10 times per month. I regretfully stayed at the "franchised" location at 865 Patriot Pkwy, Rock Hill, SC 29730. I've stayed at your name-sake in Spartanburg, Myrtle Beach and West Columbia. This particular place was AWFUL. The tub was slow draining which meant I took showers in ankle deep water. The air condition unit was very inefficient. When I said something to the desk clerk that night she just shrugged her shoulders. I went and bought a box fan from the 24 hour drug store. All of this after I had requested a jacuzzi suite and found myself in a room with a big dirty tub in the middle of the room. This is not a suite. The next morning I asked to speak to the manager at approximately 9:45 am. I was told she was not there and the desk clerk did not know when she would be in. She then asked if I wanted to call the manager at home. I said no, there was no need for that and I told the desk clerk of my disappointing experience. I suggested maybe the clerk could call the manager to let her know there was an unsatisfied customer there. We were packing up and going back and forth to the car and the desk clerk said she tried to call the manager and someone answered but hung up. About 30 minutes later, I received a call from the desk clerk stating she had talked to the manager and was instructed to get another employee and visit the room to verify my complaints if I wanted a discount. Mind you, I never asked for a discount, perhaps an apology would have done. When I told the desk clerk "OK, we're leaving in a minute anyway," she replied OK. I immediately opened the door to push the luggage cart out and there was the desk clerk an another employee standing at the door with the cordless phone. Startled, I let them in. They went straight to the AC unit, turned it on and spoke to each other in another language. My husband was in the bathroom so they couldn't check the way the shower drained. They both waited to get into the bathroom as my son and I pushed the luggage cart down. As soon as my husband appeared downstairs, there was a call at the front desk. This was the other employee calling the desk clerk to tell her there was no problem with the shower. Now, I ask you, in that short amount of time, would the drain even have time to stop up? I was flustered at this point and told the desk clerk I was beginning to feel like I was being treated like I was stupid. She said she was sorry, she understood, but in order for me to get a discount, these things needed to be done. I was told I could not get the "$25" discount since the air was ok and the shower drained fine. I was also offered the manager's home number. What kind of place is this? I had stayed at a Sheraton the 3 prior nights in NC. I was thoroughly impressed with their service and accomodations. My last visit to Country Inn & Suites was a miserable one. I will never stay at any franchise again and will tell all my traveling friends to do the same. Ever hear the saying - "the customer is always right?" I own my own business as well and would not have any clients if I didn't treat them with respect. I am disappointed with your chain that you would even have someone so haphazardly representing your corporation!

This is the closest Country Inn to Carowinds. The owner seemed quited friendly, but the desk staff was less so. For a newer structure, it seemed to be falling apart. The window was very dusty and would not close all the way. The air conditioner was noisy when it was on. The fan would not run constantly, so it was impossible to drown out the neighbors who were quite audible through the thin walls. The tiny pool was placed in the shadow of the building so it was quite cold. We have stayed at many Country Inns, but this was not up to their usual standards.
