It's really difficult to find too much wrong with this hotel. The location was good - 2 minutes and you're in the town centre. The rooms were a good size, beds were comfortable, bathroom was a decent size, with powerful shower. Facilities were good, I used the sauna and pool. The pool is tiny and was cold, but hey, just jump in and you'll be fine in no time. It was worth getting up for breakfast in the morning as the spread they laid on was tasty. However, I didn't always make it to breakfast which was no big deal as the food is cheap in the town anyway. The reception staff were very helpful and spoke English which was good when I was half way back to Tampere on the train before I realised I'd left my passport on the front desk when checking out. Thankfully they looked after it and I made it home. If I was going back to Finland, I'd be inclined to stay here again, because I know I will get good value for money.

Stayed recently for three nights in the Cumulus. The staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms, although basic were clean. Rooms were cleaned every day. Would recommend for a central base within easy walking distance of most amenities.

Clean and bright! Friendly and professional staff. Breakfast included on the price, like in all hotels in Finland... and it has huge variety to chooce from... cereal, scrabled eggs, sausages, lunch meat, rolls and different kind of bread, crepes with jam... Sauna available with no extra cost as well as admission to the night club. They have a cozy little bar "Parnell's" and dining restaurant "Huviretki" (picnic in English) with excellent food and play area for the kids.

I stayed in the Cumulus while visiting Jyvaskyla to purchase a pedigreed kitten from a Finnish breeder. The Cumulus was recommended to me as being a hotel which is very pet-friendly and I found this to be true. They have special rooms from which items that might be hazardous to pets have been removed. Also, the staff were very considerate of me and my kitten. Everyone was most friendly and helpful. I found the food to be excellent, both in the Dining Room and through Room Service. And their daily breakfast buffet -- which features many local delicacies -- is a real treat. I was sorry not to be able to stay longer, but hope to return to visit Jyvaskyla soon and look forward to staying at the Cumulus once again.
