This is a perferct place to stay for a weekend away in february.
Laura was amazing receptionist providing a lovely welcoming and helpful service. She kindly organized two great places for dinner on each night and gave good recommendations about places to visit.
The hotel provides a wonderful breakfast to start the day with a very large selection of items.
We would surely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a more intimate experience in Forte dei Marmi and we will return at the Negresco for the summer holidays.

I spent a week in this wonderful location.
Staff was very smiley and helpful: I got the feeling they were happy that I was there.
The lobby was very stylish and the relaxing music was also a good touch.
Room was extremely comfortable and silent.
Also I'd like to add that, as a woman travelling alone, I was grateful for their particular attention and security measures.
In summary, I would have no hesitation to recommend it to othersz.

Our high hopes for Hotel Il Negresco were sadly dashed by the abysmal service and arrogant attitude of the staff. The atmosphere in the hotel was absolutely terrible - the only people who looked more unhappy than the staff were the guests! In spite of booking a Superior room, we were stuck for 6 Nights in a pokey cupboard overlooking the next door construction site. In our two weeks in Italy, Hotel Il Negresco was unquestionably the most disappointing accommodation and having had a chance to see other hotels during our stay in Forte dei Marmi we'd certainly go back to this fantastic and authentic resort...but never again to Il Negresco!

We decided to do a two centre holiday having the first 4 nights at Rapallo in Liguria and then 3 nights at Forte dei Marmi. When looking for hotels it was rather a case of trying to find a hotel that remains open all year in this part of Italy as it is a very seasonal resort. I thought I had booked a superior double room which promised 'an astonishing view of the whole coast up to the Cinque Terre or the Alps. Both my husband and I were present when we checked in and we gave them both our passports. It wasn't until a day later that when going out of the hotel we were advised by one of the staff behind the desk that I had actually booked the room for only one person! (I obviously pressed the wrong number from the drop down menu on the website when making the booking) They were of course quick to advise that this would be at a higher charge than quoted. One would have thought they may have noticed this at check in especially as the room only had a balcony with enough room for one chair, had one bathrobe and one pair of slippers! The room was on the side of the hotel with a view of the Alps, the bit of the beach in front of the hotel and.... what appears to be an unfinished building site, crane and all! This is a bit of an eyesore. The room itself was adequate but I was surprised to see on the website that this room was completely new. In our opinion it looked a little worn and the furnishings were a bit tired. Although it had tea and coffee making facilities, there was no milk. The rooms were only attended once during the day in the morning. Breakfast was adequate but by choice we did not use the restaurant. Staff and service were average and we certainly didn't feel they went out of their way to be that helpful. The pool looked quite nice but we didn't use it. Position of the hotel is nice as it is on the sea front but it is a good 15 - 20 minute walk from town. We had a car which we had to pay to park in the hotel car park (45 euros for 3 nights). Sadly after having such a good stay in Liguria this hotel was a little disappointing

I stayed there last summer, the place is old, the walls are paper thin, the beds are rock hard, the staff _not much to say about the staff really, only to say they were very rude! There was construction next door and they (staff) didn't even email or try to contact us to inform us of this distribution (despite us booking 6 months in advance). If there were flights available out of there I would have been gone on the first night. Over all it’s over priced and over rated, the only good thing was its pool!
As for Forte De Marmi itself, it was nice but a little too exclusive especially the beach which cost around 50 Euro a day to sit on. It is also very difficult to get there unless you hire a car as there are only two buses (or so) running to the train station to get to Pisa airport!
