Dear Friends,
We booked our room online after the hotel sent us some pictures by email. When we arrived there on 31st of December we were very disappointed by the room. It was 3 meters wide and 3 meters long. The bathroom had something that looked like and improvised shower and smaller than a public toilet. The room was not heated anyway. The mechanic could do nothing about it so the reception sent an electric heater. After we complained to the reception they told us that those are not normal room and that they know that but the hotel is overbooked. When we came back to the room from the New Years Eve the owner came to us and said that if we don’t like it , we can leave ( we paid in advance ). He was very rude! After a big fight with him in front of all the guests he agreed to give us another 2 rooms which were nicer and heated.
On the other hand , the cook is very good so we ate a lot !
If you want to go there please tell them not to give you rooms from 106 – 111. I would suggest not to go at all.
Regards,
Dragos Buriu

We were staying in Davos for a long weeken, three night stay. I was running the Swiss Alpine Marathon on the Saturday.
We arrived by train at Davos Dorf. The hotel was almost just across the road so ideally positioned if travelling by rail.
Our room was spacious, clean and had a balcony looking toward the mountains. Nice apportioned with a spacious bathroom and walk-in shower.
The reception staff was very friendly and we took a free welcome drink at the bar after we arrived. We were also given a Davos Tourist card that gave us free travel on the trains, buses and cable cars in the area.
Breakfast was in a lovely consevatory restaurant and was first class. Could not be faulted. You could also sit out on the terrace.
Davos Platz, the main town centre was 10 - 15 minute walk away or 5 minutes on the bus or train. There were shops and restaurants in Dorf but really the two areas merged into one anyway.
We watched a James Bond film at the open air cinema in Platz. Well recommended as there was barbeque food and drinks on before and during the interval.
We took the funicular to Schatzalp and walked from there. The weekend was a festival week with various Swiss Alpine Running and walking events taking place. I ran the 26.2 marathon from Bergun over 6000 feet into the mountains and past one or two glaciers before returning to Davos. A well organised event that was run like clockwork.
We flew to Bergamo and took the train from there to Davos via Andermatt and Chur. What a tremendous scenic journey, perhaps one of the best I've done. We returned to Bergamo via the St Moritz, the Bernina Pass and Tirano. We took a panoramic train. I thought the outbound journey was good but this return leg was out of this world. We travelled to 7,400 feet past glaciers before descending to Italy and 100 degrees of sunshine again.
I would recommend the Turm Victoria Hotel Davos as we paid circa £100 a night which we thought was reasonable for 4 stars in high season Switzerland. I think the price was cheap as it was out of the Centre but this was not a problem with the regular as clockwork trains and buses.
What a tremendous holiday!

What a surprise after reading the previous reviews. We arrived by train from Zurich which takes approximately 3 hours - you catch the train at the airport, then change in Zurich main station and then in Landquart. I bought my ticket on line for 106SF (return) which meant no queuing when you get there. Just ask the the person at the ticket desk for the train schedule to Davos - It will set out the times, the platform number etc. the trains run quite frequently and you really cannot go wrong. When you change trains you only have to wait 6-10 mins between each change and they run exactly to time.
When you arrive in Davos you get off at Davos Dorf and Hotel Victoria is just across the road - it could'nt be easier. We were greeted at reception by 2 very pleasant young ladies who spoke perfect English and could not have been more helpful. We were given a very pleasant room that was spotlessly clean with very nice fittings. There was a beautiful bathroom with shower, hairdryer, minibar and lovely underfloor heating - which was great in February.
There is an attractive restaurant with exceptional food for lunch and dinner that is not overpriced - main courses are approximately 17-35SF.The quality and attentive service is really first class. The food is as good if not better than some 5 star hotels I've eaten in. Breakfast is a mixture of extensive continental together with hot cooked. You are asked if you would like bacon and eggs and you have the usual option of fried, boiled, scrambled.
There is a rustic bar on the ground floor with a log fire and attractive alpine furniture. There was live music every night we were there from a very talented vocalist/musician.
I could not fault the accomodation, the service or the food. I have stayed in a number of Austrian, German and other properties all over Europe and America and have never been more pleased than I was with this stay. I will definitely return.
I think the other reviewers must have been staying at a different hotel! Great skiing as well.

I think the hotel is overrated and not worth the 4 **** stars.
The breakfast is limited and you get one croisant per person!
Eggs you have to ask for and you can't take yourself for example scrammbled eggs. The staff is kind but not always very helpfull.
The boxspring beds have had there best time, the springs are squaking and noisy!
The rooms are very nice and clean.
Overall nothing exciting and very average
