We booked a birthday party for our six year old and were told that we could use the dining room and the pool if we got a room as that would be part of the package. Well, after we got there and were setting up another family having a party for their daughter showed up expecting to set up in the same area to have a party. Both parties were informed there were no other parties scheduled but they lied as they double booked.
They tried to make things better by allowing us to be in the dining room since we were there first and then we would switch to the pool after an hour. Well we packed up to go to the pool and the other family didn't go to the dining area for a while as the kids, of course, were having a good time swimming. So, basically we rushed for no reason at all.
This was a very stressful day and it shouldn't have been at all. We have contacted the hotel management and so far they haven't been willing to discuss a discount or anything else as we are not happy customers at all and we will not be returning to this hotel or any other Country Inn & Suites.

First of all the room was great. We got a suite, and it was your usual suite with all of the works. The only problem with this place was the service. They were a young lot of kids working the place, and weren't that friendly. Also some friends who were staying in a different room got phone calls and a knock on the door at night. They noticed the TV was unplugged and the door was opened when they got to their room after checking in. We believe, being that we got the last two available rooms, that there might have been an inside job to steal the tv. Other than that everything else was fine. Good breakfast also.

First, I must say we had a clean room at this hotel. The service was not as good as I'm use to having. For example, I asked for a non-smoking room on the 1st floor but when we arrived I had a 2nd floor / smoking room. The room did not smell like smoke but there were clean ash trays in the room with matches in them. I have 3 very curious kids under the age 6 and when I saw the matches I thought that was an accident waiting to happen. There was not a "no smoking" sign on the door like the other non smoking rooms had on theirs. At check out I mentioned my concerns about the 1st floor room request and that we were in a smoking room after requesting non smoking. I felt like the lady gave a lame exuse. She assure me that was a non smoking room and said the people who stayed before most likey took the sticker off the door and brought the ash trays in. Also, I called and asked for more towels one morning and they asked me if I could come down & get them. I'm not the type of person who likes to make a big deal out of things, but I thought all these things were worth mentioning on this website. I would probably give this hotel another try someday if we come back to town. I should have booked the Hampton based on it's reviews.

I stay at the Country Inn & Suites in Somerset everytime I visit Kentucky. Compared to other local hotels, this is the best hotel for its price. The staff are friendly, and the rooms are spacious.
