We chose this hotel based on the reviews here and I have to say that this hotel lived up to the best of the reviews here so I wont repeat what has already been written. We stayed in this hotel for two nights recently after reading several reviews on this site and seeing it in a number of guides. On arrival we thought the entrance was quite small and hidden, between some shops, but what a great location. We had a lovely room that overlooked a quieter side street rather than the main road and it was huge with a really comfy bed - possibly one of the most comfortable ever - and two french doors that opened onto little balconies. The hotel was renovated fairly recently and does have a bit of a corporate feel to the decor, a few pictures would have made it a bit more cosy. But it is difficult to find fault. The breakfast was really decent - with lovely yoghurt, fruit, cakes, cheeses and bread. My only small complaint is smoking in the breakfast room, but then this is Greece! The hotel staff were particularly helpful and kind. They went out their way to help us (particularly Lia) and arranged us a taxi to get to Halkidiki after spending some time exploring bus options! We loved the location and just as we were leaving discovered a lovely little district behind the port which we wished we'd had time to explore more - lots of restaurants.

We had a 3-night stay which for the most part was just fine, especially after we moved to a room away from the street (even with soundproofed windows the revving motorcycles kept us awake). The staff was very accommodating about our wish to move to a quieter room. Cleanliness, location, helpfulness of staff, size of rooms and quality/variety of breakfast were all well above average. But the bed linens were extremely uncomfortable--they felt weirdly synthetic and over-starched and just didn't breathe properly. When we asked the receptionist she said they were new and maybe needed more time to become more comfortable. The beds themselves are not that comfortable either--rather concave so you feel like you're falling into the middle. But, if perfect sleep is not your top priority, the hotel is very nice!

When in Thessaloniki I spend a lot of time OUT of my room! But still, one needs a clean, comfortable room with a helpful staff. Location is also important. This hotel certainly has all this. I plan to return again next summer.
