Stayed here 3 nights on business. This was my choice of where to stay when on business in Reno. I have stayed here since it opened 7-8 years ago. But now its starting to show its age, carpets stained, linens worn etc. Customer service has always just been ok and I put up with it because I liked the hotel. But this time they said the only room they had was a small queen left, when I booked a large king. They said they would move me to a better room the next day. I went to the room which was by the elevator which I hate. The room was not cleaned and it smelled funny. Do not accept rooms on the 2nd floor, the window has no view to the outside! I went back down and told them and a miracle happened, they had a room on the 4th floor with 2 queens. Why they just didn't put me there to begin with is beyond me. the blanket had hairs on it! I complained and they brought a new blanket and said it must have gotten there in the dryer, yeah right!
The casino there is small and boring but the dealers are nice.
There was a time when the Siena did not have competition, but now the other hotels are remodeling. I am trying the Grand Sierra's new rooms when I go back in August.

Hotel smells like an ash tray- especially if staying on a lower floor. The smell of the casino caries up to about the 4th floor.
The Casino is full of local gambleaholics who mostly look like homeless people. I don't get what makes it a boutique hotel- the linens and room amenities were all pretty much something you could find a any mid priced hotel.
The small restaurant attached to the casino had bland food.
It is a pretty hotel, the common areas are nicely appointed.
The staff that I ran into were quite nice.
The turndown service is excellent.
I reccomend that you request a high floor and eat at the more expensive restaurant- well worth it.

As a long time gambling patron of this property - even before it was the Siena, I was comped a room at $59 per nite, next nite free. Made a last minute reservation for our first time staying here and asked if an upgrade was possible - it was for no additional charge. Arrived and asked if we could upgrade our upgrade - we could to a Tower suite for $30 per nite.... so for us, a total bargain for about $60 per nite. Even if paying full price it would be well worth it... view of the river unparralled, rooms clean, comfy and well equipped. Staff courteous, attentive and helpful. Pool area a tad small, but fine for our off peak stay on a Monday and Tuesday, and a luxury in and of itself as many hotels in this area don't have pools at all. The pool could be warmer. Restaurant Lexies - fabulous. Service equal to, and the food better than, the dinner we had in a highly rated Beverly Hills eatery a few nites prior. We love the intimacy of the hotel and casino, and the beautiful river just outside the doors. No need for us to leave the 2 days we were here. Many other casinos well within walking distance though - don't understand some complaints by other raters in this regard.

In April (2008) we stayed at the Siena Hotel in Reno, Nevada with our children and grandchildren. We wanted a place where we could gamble, sight-see, and visit Lake Tahoe. The Siena is a small “boutique” hotel that was very nice, but the rooms were quite small. Because we were flying from out of town, the children could not take the usual large number of toys and equipment (stroller, etc.) that they usually take in their van; however, we found a website (renotravelkids.com) that not only rented the items, but also delivered them directly to our room at the hotel. A great service! One place where we ate dinner was Roxy’s in the Eldorado Casino. It was a great meal, but was a bit pricy. A fun place for the kids was Circus Circus. Not only do they have ongoing circus acts, but also have a fun arcade.
