Stay was two nights- Friday & Saturday. Okay, the hotel is old and I think a lot of people are confusing old with dirty. The room was very clean. It was small and oddly shaped but who really cares? How much time are you really spending in the room anyway? The location is great, from the room you could see into Comerica Park and it was about a five minute walk to the Greektown Casino. The price for two nights plus tax was around $210, I thought that was a great deal considering the next closest rate was close to $300 a block away. So, if you require your hotel to be new and shiny and are concerned with how many t.v. channels you get, the Milner may not be the place for you. If you are more laid back and are visiting Detroit, to see the city I think this is a great spot. Also, the staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. I will definitely stay here again.

Wow, what an experience - and none of it good! Don't let the quaint lobby fool you. Once you get into the oddly shaped elevator, you'll know exactly what I mean. After ramming my shoulder against the door several times, I was finally able to get into my room. The room was very small with a peculiarly shaped bathroom, not to mention a strange door next to the shower that turned out to be a closet - WTF? After cleaning up the pile of cat poop from the carpet and trying to prop up the seemingly broken headboard, I noticed the smell of the room - on par with my old junior high locker room. I thought a good nights sleep would help, but I was wrong. Thankfully, the large quantity of beer that I had consumed that evening helped a little bit. OK, maybe a morning cup of coffee, but the bugs that ended up in my coffee cup kind of spoiled that (I'm not even sure how they got there). This place makes the "Men's Hotel" in the Blues Brothers look like the Waldorf Astoria. The hotel does have one positive - it's very close to Comerica Park. About the only persons I would recommend this hotel to would be a group of guys interested in a baseball game, some bar hopping, and some cheap lodging - provided they were current on all of their vaccinations.

My husband and I wanted to go to see the Sox vs Tigers at Comerica Pk. Well, this hotel is indeed close to Comerica, but that's its best feature! WHAT A DUMP! I'll start with the worst features and work my way down: Worst Feature: The bed was as comfortable as sleeping on a used and distressed box spring. I swear I think the bed is from 1915 when the hotel was built. I had the worst nights sleep (I literally had to hang on to the end of the bed so I didn't fall into the hole in the middle pit) that I have ever had in my life. Another BAD Feature: Bed spread was stiff and GROSS! Bad Feature 3: The hot water only comes on after you leave it running for 5 mins or so. What a joke! Bad Feature 4: Our room didn't have any towels, so I called the front desk---3 TIMES to get some towels. All we wanted to do was GET THE H*LL OUT OF THERE, but couldn't even take a nice, quick shower. Bad Feature 5: Weird restaurant on the first floor. Although they were advertising a "Jive Turkey Burger", so that was at least funny. However, I think there were bugs in our room (had small bites on me in the morning) and I'm sure the little restaurant on the first floor didn't hurt. Bad Feature 6: The People Mover runs all night and you can hear it from your room. Finally Bad Feature 7: The room smelled like an old bachelor's apartment. Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwww We will NEVER stay here again. It was the worst hotel experience that either one of us have ever had. This includes the "no tell motels" we stayed in back in our wild youth.
