We found the location perfect for walking everyday to see St. Petersburg Sites. The room was a little small, but clean. The best part of the Comfort Hotel was the staff. We had glitches with our airline connections both ways and the staff bent over backwards to find us an alternate way out of the Russia as our visas were expiring. They also helped us arrange another hotel booking in Helsinki when the whole city was booked up because of a rock concert. Marina was the best. We called through Skype and booked our own reservations, and she sent us our visa paperwork and arranged airport transfer as well as the cabs we wanted during the week we were there.
Breakfast was good and kept us going all morning - tea and coffee are available all day and night. We highly recommend this place and would stay again

When we travel to different countries, we look for small hotels that will enhance our experience by connecting us to the local people, food, and attractions. At the Comfort Hotel, 25 Bolshaya Morskaya, in St. Petersburg we were delighted with our 11 day window to this beautiful city.
The staff was very helpful starting with the VISA support for obtaining our Visas, arranging for transportation from and to the airport, daily help with numerous questions, a birthday cake for our celebration, restaurant recommendations, and a 0400 breakfast to accommodate early morning travel plans and much more.
The location is superb with the Hermitage, St. Isaac's, Nevskiy Prospekt a 5 minute walk, and many other attractions within a 20 minute walk.
Our room was spotless, comfortable, and quiet for the length of our stay.

I highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in St. Petersburg. When searching for a hotel in St. P's, information about amenities were scarce, so here are some details:
- elevator to all floors
- located so close to everything, it's unbelievable:
- WiFi in rooms, computer station in lobby with internet available 24/7
- Bank across the street to exchange, along with a Telecom centre from where you can call home.
- Great restaurants all around, but don't eat at the one next door!
- Rooms have ample space, beds are comfy, VERY Clean!
- the breakfast includes cereals, cucumber/tomatoes, cheeses, cold cuts, hot eggs, porridge, and sausages, juices, (coffee/tea is served all day long!) the breakfast room is very cozy.
- Satellite tv has German, French, BBC stations
- the staff are outstanding and the front desk people helped us to arrange theatre tickets, transfers to our train and generally were very helpful.
Pricey, but worth the cost for safety and feeling assured that all is well!
The Herzen House is on the 4th floor, it might be listed as a B&B, but is very new and shares with the Comfort Hotel.
The Comfort is on the same block as the Astoria, but I think that better bet as there is less traffic flying by!
Enjoy your stay!
PS. Book directly with the hotel if you can, agencies don't alway get the reservations right....
