We attended a wedding at this hotel in August 2007 and decided to stay the night. The room we stayed in was a relatively large size, but the wallpaper is dated and was also peeling away from the walls. The ceiling also had several cracks in it. The windows are difficult to open and the secondary double glazing does not allow the fresh air to circulate in the room on a hot evening. The bathroom also was not brilliant. The tiles were missing behind the toilet and others in the bathroom were cracked. Oh, and we also had the fire exit room which meant that if there was an emergency everyone would be piling through our room!!! I complained about the state of the room and the manager said he would look into my issues and could only apologise. Surely, the rooms should be inspected on a regular basis. The breakfast was O.K but they rushed each part through without a care for whether you were ready or not. I was still eating cereal when my cooked breakfast arrived and the coffee wasn't hot. Definately not worth it for the price but the room we stayed in did have nice views over the river Thames. Perhaps that we paid for!

Lovely setting; peaceful
Great views over river
Excellent restaurant food
Most staff pleasant
Some bedrooms fairly nice and big, if old fashioned
Adequately equipped with iron, biscuits, body lotion, radio
Breakfast service can be slow
Some bedrooms are hideously florally decorated
Swimming pool was not heated adequately nor open as stated

We have just returned after staying one night. The hotel was OK but the room number 3 smelt of foist and the bedding wreaked of stale tobacco which was still as strong the next morning this was after leaving the window open during our stay.We would stay there again but would require a premier room. Number 3 also look over the bin area.

This is a nice hotel with nice, not great views, of the Thames. Upgrades and improvements have been made and are expected to continue. It has a nice lobby area and decent bar and restaurant.
My room was large (double) with a large bathroom. Internet available in the lobby/restaurant area.
It met expectations
It is very quiet and somewhat isolated. Great for relaxation.

Enjoyed my two night (Monday, Tuesday) stay, room was in side annex to hotel overlooking Thames.
Bar menu basic, but food very good on first night.
Restaurant on second night, again v.good.
Room was generally quiet, well sized and comfortable.
Overall a pleasent stay.
