I was in Krakow having dental surgery and chose the hotel solely due to its proximity to the dentist. It's slightly out of the town and presumably due to this very reasonably priced (we had to extend our stay by a couple of nights and it was just as cheap to book direct with the hotel). The hotel was dead dead dead - really quiet, and I assume this was time of year rather than a reflection on its year-round business. Staff were lovely and rooms were clean and perfectly well equipped. A few minutes' cab ride gets you to the market square and cabs are cheap, so I'd say if you're not desperate to walk out of the hotel straight into starbucks it's worth considering staying here rather than paying for a 4/5 star hotel right in the town centre (plus I don't even think there is a starbucks). Do be warned, however, that at about 3pm the hotel will blame the "rush hour" (ten cars waiting at traffic lights for 2 minutes - it's not London believe me!) for having no taxis available and it'll be a potential 20 minute wait. What really stood out at the hotel was the food. We never intended to eat there as I knew a few good restaurants in the town centre, one of which, incidentally, let us down tremendously (do NOT eat in Pod Aniolami - Under the Angels - before the chef arrives at 6pm). We did in fact have a dinner and a lunch at the hotel, both of which were truly divine. Steak with wild mushrooms and a steak tartare - both very obviously freshly made, seasoned perfectly, totally delicious. All in all a really positive experience. And yes my teeth look amazing too.

Questo hotel è fantastico. Colazione abbondante, personale molto disponibile, posizione ideale - a 10 minuti dall’aeroporto in taxi, per 20 sterline (al ritorno). L’autobus locale n° 173 porta al castello di Wavel che è a undici fermate dall’hotel. Per il resto tutto era raggiungibile a piedi.

Il Crown Piast si trova a metà strada (e ad una corsa in taxi per niente costosa) dall’aeroporto e/o dalla città vecchia. Quando entri in questo hotel ti sembra di fare un salto negli anni ’70, inizio anni ’80. Le camere (e le aree comuni) avrebbero bisogno di una rimodernata ma il personale era adorabile e ha più che compensato per l’arredo un po’ deprimente. La proprietà è pulitissima. I giardini sono belli, peccato che quelli sul retro sono un po’ rovinati dall’odore di pipì di gatto!! L’assortimento per il buffet della colazione è buono, anche se potrebbero migliorare la qualità dei succhi; inoltre c’era pochissima frutta fresca. L’autista del taxi dell’hotel è adorabile ma fa pagare molto più di quanto dovrebbe, quindi cercate delle alternative e trattate sul prezzo se potete. Nel complesso un rapporto qualità/prezzo molto buono e un’esperienza molto piacevole.

We booked this hotel after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor - and I can safely say that we weren't disappointed. Once we got over the look of the surrounding area (which was a little deserted - but in no way threatening), we had a fabulous time and found all staff to be extremely helpful and genuinely interested in helping us to have a fabulous break. The hotel itself is well worth the rating it receives and we found the rooms, service and breakfast to be first class. The rooms were clean and tidy, a good size, and the beds comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble for the desk staff who were quick at booking taxis and handing out advice on the city. Only downside, if I can call it that, is that it was quite warm at night due to the air-conditioning not being all it could have been. Oh, and my wife would have liked tea and coffee making facilities in the room!! The hotel is approximately seven kilometres from the centre of Krakow (10-15 minutes) but a taxi ride was fairly priced at just £3 or £4 - slightly more on a Sunday. All in all though, a great hotel and I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone thinking of going to Krakow, which, by the way, is a beautiful city.

This lovely hotel is a real find. It is an oasis of peace and tranquility set in the midst of busy roads and retail park. Despite its setting, there is no traffic noise at all as it is set well back from the highway and has its own lovely grounds. We spent four nights here and enjoyed every minute. Our room was large and comfortable with two large comfy beds and was spotless. We had a lovely view over the garden. There is easy access to taxis for the trip into the centre of Krakow and the most we were charged was £3. The hotel also has its own taxi and we booked it to collect us from the airport and for the return journey. The cost was £12 when we arrived on the Sunday evening but only £9 when we returned mid-week. We also used the hotel taxi for a trip to the Salt Mines and our private arrangement cost no more than a tour coach. The restaurant provides an excellent buffet breakfast and there is a comprehensive selection of cold and hot foods to suit most tastes. We ate here one evening too and the meal was first class. The only problem we encountered was that there was a Hitachi convention on that evening and of course the kitchen was catering for them as well. We were asked to sit in the bar for our meal - an attractive and comfortable place - but we did have a rather long wait for our dinner. It was worth waiting for and we spent an enjoyable evening afterwards on the pretty garden patio. Reception was filled with charming, helpful young ladies who did all they could to give advice and assistance. Ana had noticed my booking requested non-allergenic bedding and she had ensured all the bedding was changed from feathers well in advance of our arrival. All in all a very comfortable, pleasant hotel for our visit to Krakow.
