One thing I hate is when you go to take a shower and the drain is plugged up. We're not talking slow, we're talking 10 minutes to drain after taking a quick shower. Am I the only traveler that tells the hotel when the shower doesn't drain? or does the hotel blow me off when I report things like that. If I owned a hotel, one of the requirements of the maid staff would be to check the drains each day with a timer. Otherwise, the hotel was okay. The front desk staff were very nice and helpful. They recommended the grizzly and wolf preserve across the street, which is not for profit and very informative. Location is good for the park. I didn't get a chance to have the breakfast - it was too crowded and we chose a restaurant in town.

Stayed here for one night on our way to WY. Overall, not a bad place. Furnishings were a bit dated, but the room was spacious and pretty clean. We also had a small fridge and microwave in the room. The staff were pretty nice and they do have a decent breakfast in the lobby in the morning. It is a great location in town and walking distance to restaurants and the Grizzly and Wolf Center and so close to the Yellowstone entrance.

We just returned from a trip to Yellowstone. We stayed two nights at th Kelly Inn in West Yellowstone. The first night we hot in after dark and were extremely tired. We were told that our room was on second floor, but the hotel had an elevator as well as a cart to haul in our bags. The room was magnificent. It was a very large suite with all new furniture. The furniture in the living area had a Western theme. The chairs and couch were in a green, gold and brown cowboy print with leather arms and trim. There were large end tables and a coffee table. Also, there was a generous foot stool by one of the chairs. The bedroom had a huge king sized bed with a pillow-top mattress and a coordinating bedspread to go with the living room furniture. There was amble lighting in the room and a chest with eight drawers that could hold all of our clothing. There was also a nice kitchen area with a microwave and refrigerator. After a relaxing time in the large whirlpool tub, we retired for the night. In the morning, I was able to get in the pool and do some swimming before breakfast. I was impressed with the huge and immaculately clean plool area. I also enjoyed the sauna and whirlpool. Large swim towels were available. After I got dressed, we enjoyed a wonderful continental breakfast. We had our choice of cereal, waffles, bagels, etc. All in all, we had a very pleasant stay. The staff and managers were extremely helpful and courteous. It was a very well run property.

Booking the room was an absolute joke. I was originally reserving 7 rooms for a fun family get away. After several phone calls of just ringing, ringing, ringing, I finally got someone on the phone. In making a few changes by email, I asked for a confirmation that they received my email, what was I thinking, it never came. In thinking that the service in person was going to be better, it just confirmed to me why they never pick up the phone. Admittedly this is a very small resort town, and their staff reflected that. They were argumentative, and hard to communicate with. The best person there was the staff member that couldn’t speak English but was willing to keep things clean and orderly in the public areas including the swimming pool. That is pretty sad. We reserved the rooms for $89 and I saw someone had booked for close to $170, I think they were definitely had. The rooms were just as obnoxious. They were extremely noisy. The bathroom sounded like you were taking a shower with the next door neighbor. You could hear a pin drop above you. Best suggestion stay on the 3rd floor, if you can get the desk to agree to it. The continental breakfast the first morning was a joke with a busload of tourists in front of me preparing in a 3’x3’ area. The only reason this hotel is getting an average rating was, the rooms were very accommodating and clean. My husband and I had spent a weekend there a couple of years ago and felt for the family the best asset was the swimming pool and spa. Not only was it extremely clean, but quite large. The accessibility to the restaurants, shopping, entrance to Yellowstone, the walking distance to the Bear and Wolf Discovery Center, to McDonalds (that was way overpriced), was great. Next trip I will try to find another hotel that has the same advantages, but less disadvantages.
