Business brought me to the Hartford, CT area in January 2008. Because of the timing of flights and my meeting, I was obligated to spend the night in the Hartford airport area. I selected the Candlewood Suites because of the location and price. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice this hotel was. It is nearly directly across from the runway, but since there are not really late flights out of this airport, airport noise is not a big factor. This hotel is new and it shows. The lobby is small but nicely appointed. There is a fitness room and business services center too, which is unusual in an extended stay type property. You were able to use the business center computers and print out items for free, a really good feature for the business traveler. They also had high speed internet access in the rooms at no additional charge. The rooms are obviously new. The door opens right onto the small kitchenette. The appliances are all new. There are granite countertops in the kitchenette and bath. There is also a small desk/dining table at the end of the kitchenette. The bed and TV armoire are at the end of the room. The bed was comfy, had lots of pillows and felt like a new mattress. The bathroom was spotless. The only complaint is that you could not use the second chair for the dinette because the recliner was in the way. I could have moved it to another spot in the room, but I couldn't be bothered. Checking in, you get coupons to use at the Cupboard to get drinks and snacks. I liked the fact that this was provided. The staff at the front desk were pleasant. Checking and checking out was quick and efficient. Overall, I was really pleased with my stay. If I'm ever in the Hartford Airport area again, I will definitely select the Candlewood Suites.

I have stayed at this hotel on at least 5 occassions in the past year. I do so, because I frequently have to fly out of the Bradley Airport (Hart/Springfield airport) early in the morning and I will stay the night right next to the airport to avoid having to get up at 2am to drive in from my home. I've tried just about all the hotels near the BDL airport and this one has the most buck/bang ratio in my opinion. Anyway, this hotel in litteraly less than 1 mile from the BDL aiport. Yes, you *could* walk to the airport, but I don't recomend it because there are no sidewalks. And besides, they have a free shuttle that runs early and late. The hotel is also located in a cluster of restaurants(Subway, Wendys, Ruby's, Friendly's and others), other hotels, gas stations, and several LT parking lots. I find the property to be well maintained, well-lighted parking lot, and very clean. The neighborhood is quite safe. They do have a heated pool, but no hot tub. As for the price, I've usually beeen paying about $105 (AAA rate) after taxes. That is actually on the low-end of the prices if you compare it to the other hotels in that cluster. If want something cheaper, there's a LaQuinta and a Fairfield nearby, but they're not as nice as this Candlewood.

We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the Rooms and Service. Everything was above Average and for the price a fantastic deal. For dinner we went down the Street to SKYLINE and had a fabulous meal.

Very nice (and newer) rooms, however a bit small. Kitchen was adequately stocked even though you only had two of everything (forget dinner for four!). Good value though!

Wow this is a Candlewood. I had to double check. This is a very nice Candlewood. The nicest of the chain. I had to ask the desk if it used to be a Staybridge ( the higher end extended stay hotels in the Holiday Inn chain) Nope I was told we have always been a Candlewood. Wow. ...Very nice. Located right at the BDL airport the location could not of been better. It was very convenient to both the airport and Hartford. There is a runway across the street from the property but it is not the airports active runway so it was not an issue. The amenities are the normal Candlewood but a bit upgraded ( nicer sheets, nicer TV, etc…). There are a couple of restaurants near by. The only draw back it the area is a bit busy for a evening jogger but in the AM it was not an issue. Candlewood has in all their locations cheap fitness equipment. This had the same. However this was probably the only draw back. I highly recommend this location.
