We book this hotel through the Norway in a Nutshell tour.
We were quite happy.
It is not in the very centre of Oslo, but quite easy to reach on foot (without luggage) or by tram. It is in a quiet nice quarter west of the centre and not far from the new area of the harbour (Aket brygge).
The room was quite good; only there are some fittings that are a little old, especially in the corridors, but also in the room and bathroom.
It is sufficiently clean and warm.
The most beautiful aspect of the hotel are the spa and the delicious breakfast.
Also the personnel is very nice and helpful.

Less is more in this hotel. The decor is subdued but stylish, the atmosphere quiet but tranquil, the rooms simple but comfortable. Breakfast is fantastic - multiple choices, good fresh quality food, abundant serve-yourself quantities. Coffee, waffles, cold drinks are freely available through the day, and there is a free light meal in the evening - buffet salads, sausage, spring roll type things - that wasn't so good, but, well, it's free. There is a small bar and good internet access (a terminal in the lounge and wireless in the rooms - ask at reception for the passwords which you get on a scratch card - follow the instructions on the card, not from the receptionist!).
I experienced two rooms in short succession, moving to get access to a bath tub. The first room was spacious, the second was tiny. The hotel is a converted large house so I guess that is the reason why. The conversion means that the hotel floors change levels quite a lot and there are lifts that operate by half floors at the major level changes. There is no obvious wheelchair access to the wonderful open air breakfast terrace. And there are smaller changes of level everywhere, with sloping connections, which together with the construction technique at doorways (there is commonly a block of wood across the doorway at floor level) would mean that getting about in a wheel chair would be hard work. Access to the hotel itself through the front door is up half a dozen steps in two flights with no wheel chair ramp that I could see (maybe round the back?) and this would make its wheelchair access problematic.

We stayed for 3 nights at this hotel. The neighborhood is very good. The hotel is in a quiet street, you feel that you are in the suburbs although it is 15 minutes walk from the center. The room was very comfortable an nicely decorated. The only minus was the extremely small bathroom. Breakfast was ok and the hotel offers a small dinner buffet without extra charge. A very good hotel with an average price for Oslo standards.

This hotel used to be full of charm and comfort. Not so any more. The public areas on the ground floor are modern and in strong contrast to the beatiful exterior. The bar is an extention of the reception and has a very limited stock. My room was OK, bed was good and a good chair . Bathroom was very small. Breakfast was normal Norwegian buffet style. Nice and quiet neighbourhood, still central.
