I just returned from Katowice where I stayed overnight at the NOVOTEL.
PRO:
- pretty easy to find, you see it from a distance
- modern, clean, comfortable
- outstanding restaurant ... nouvelle cuisine style but sensible portion, innovative, appreciated the fact that the menu presented only one dish with pork ... extremely rare in Poland, a good variety of dishes with fish, chicken etc ...
- good breakfast buffet
- appreciated the offer of free foreign newspapers in the morning, although the number at 06:30 was quite limited
- excellent offer of multilingual TV channels
CON:
- bed was much too soft
- bathroom very small, was actually smaller than the one at the IBIS Czestochowa
- staff from extremley pleasant, all smile,- young people - to pretty rude, communist style - older people -
- town is really dreary, when I asked the local about worthwhile visiting sites ... the answer was very is nothing worth visiting here, with a grin ...
ALL IN ALL QUITE A GOOD HOTEL, BUT NEXT TIME I WILL STAY IN KRAKOW !!!

I recommend this hotel for: Families with teenagers, Families with young children, Tourists.
