"We had an exellent experience at this hotel in April of 2005. Our cruise ship came in and we had a day to spend in Venice prior to flying out early the next day. The hotel allowed us to check in early to drop off our bags and provided a free shuttle into Venice and back again. The rooms were extremely..."

A very nice hotel with nice rooms, especially for families. We had a very reasonable pricing for a 4 person room. The breakfast was much more better than we expected. There is a shuttle bus to Venice but do not forget to book in advance. if you miss the shuttle or can not find a place (which is possible during the high season) taxi costs 20-25 Euro. There are some free parking places around the hotel (very safe) and they charged us 6 Euro per night which was really cheap. Personel was not very helpful which you should be ready during your visit to Venice. We definitly will stay again at this hotel if we visit venice in the future

We have just returned from a three night stay in the Novotel hotel in Mestre. It is a great hotel. It is a 15 minute walk into Mestre town centre, which is great for just relaxing and having a beer. There are also some great restauraunts and are all fantastic value for money. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. There is also a free bus to and from Venice everday. There is only one problem with the hotel-Cost of food and drink. We only had one meal, a buffet breakfast, It cost ?49 for two of us. But when you have so many resteraunts cafes and bistros so close it doesn't matter. I would recommend this hotel to everyone, it is clean, confortable and very friendly.

My family of four loved this hotel. The rooms were elegant and clean, ours was large and had a kitchenette with a refrigerator which was very nice because the streets of Venice can get very hot and stuffy and we were delighted to take the short bus ride back to the hotel for a mid-afternoon break, get some ice cold drinks out of our fridge and hit the two great massage chairs in the workout room. We couldn't help but think that for $80 for a family of four during peak season we had hit the jackpot. The hotel is in a quiet area but just a couple of blocks from the bus stop to Venice, the bus ride is 10 minutes into Venice. When we saw people pulling their lugage through Venice's winding alley ways which are easy to get lost in, we were glad we decided to stay on the mainland in Mestre and take the bus in. This is something people with kids may really want to keep in mind. Do you want to be running around alley ways with luggage and hungry, hot tired kids (or spouse) trying to find your hotel? The staff here is friendly, every clerk we talked to at the front desk spoke English, the breakfast was substantial and good and served in a nice dining room with white table cloths and a flower on each table. There is a workout room - you may not want to spend your vacation aerobicizing, but stop in anyway to enjoy the two very nice massage chairs. As I sipped my chilled wine while getting a mid-afternoon massage and thought about heading back into Venice for the evening, I thought this was about the best hotel booking I made during our three-and-a-half week Europe vacation. It was very nice for $80 with comfortable and spacious accomodations for the four of us. We would definitely stay here again.

Best value in Venice area

This is probably the best value hotel in the Venice area. It has a shuttlebus to Piazalle Roma in central Venice. You have to take No. 5 bus to get to Piazalle Rome from the airport. From there, any bus saying "Treviso" will stop 40m from the hotel, the name of the halt is "Terraglio". After this bus stops, you have to take a no. 2 and get off at "Ospedale". From there it is about 0.4km walk. The La Terrazza restaurant has a reasonably good menu, but as with anything in Venice, don't expect it to be cheap. The rooms are of decent size and quite comfortable, with an electric kettle and fridge. The beds are real King doubles (standard Novotel), and there is a sofa in the room too. It was nice ot meet a waiter from back home in the restaurant. Overall, recommended.
