I recommend this hotel for: Older travelers, Young singles, An amazing honeymoon.
good location just across from the underground/tgv station and only a short walk to the eurostar.
it was ideal for a short stay and i picked it because we were going to a James Blunt concert at the zenith arena (5mins walk and excellent venue)and then straight off early next morning on the tgv.
room was clean and tidy and hotel overall was fine.
there was a good value restaurant next door , think it was called flunch or simalar, although hotel dining looked fine.
would definatly use again, as Lille is a lovely place and plan to have another trip soon.

I stayed there for two nights in December.
The hotel is modern, very clean. Most of the rooms have been refurbished recently to follow the standard Novotel layout and furniture, with a large, modern bathroom.
Standard-price room was large, very functional, with a large bed, a sofa, a desk, a mini-bar and a flat screen TV (sound of the TV was also playing in the bathroom).
The corridors, lifts and public areas are modern and very clean.
Reception/restaurant areas are very modern and nice. There are comic books on load for kids, some toys, game console and a choice of free newspapers.
The breakfast buffet area can get a bit crowded during week-ends however. The breakfast buffet was nice, although probably slighly overpriced, and with fewer choices than the usual Novotel offering (particularly around hot food, such as bacon and eggs, and fruits).
The hotel does not have its own car park, but is located very close (100m) to a public, underground car park. The car park is modern and feels safe (for cars and people). The price per day is about 15 EUR, which is probably high for Lille, although there are special discounted price for week-end stays (several days). During week-ends, it is also possible to find some spaces on the neighborhood streets, free of charge.
Location wise, the hotel is on the side/rear of the main train station, and probably not the best location/street in Lille in term of touristic appeal. However, it takes only a 5-10 minutes walk to get to the main shopping street (Rue de Bethune) and the Grand Place. The hotel is also close to the largest shopping mall (Euralille), and to the TGV/Eurostar station (10 min walk).
The hotel is probably as good as the other Novotel hotel available in Lille (located in a nicer, more typical street, and closer to the main square), although the rates of this other hotel are probably twice as much, only due to a slighly better location.
Personally, I think the Lille Centre Gares Novotel offers much better value for money, and it would be difficult to find anything wrong with it.
Tips: try to get a room away from the street, facing the rear, as the street can be a bit noisy due to traffic.

I stayed here for 2 nights whilst at a conference so didn't really expect more than somewhere to sleep, however I was pleasantly surprised by everything about this hotel. For a large, modern, 4 star hotel it does what it says on the tin so to speak!
Great restaurant/bar, great decor, comfortable large bedroom with large modern bathroom, satellite tv, floor to ceiling windows, big miror, hairdryer, very clean, hotel very central, a 2 minute walk to the station, next door to the famous euralille shopping centre. I was especially impressed by the helpfulness of the staff who went of their way to get me a UK adaptor which i'd forgotten.
Bad points- no tea/coffee facilities in room, but a minibar instead. Room was abnormally warm i had to turn the heat off at the thermostat. I didn't like how there was a strange door which seemed to lead onto the next room, but it appeared to be locked from both sides- even so, a bit unnerving!
Overall, a great hotel to stay in, it really helped make to make my trip enjoyable.

My wife and I spent three nights in this hotel and used it as a base to explore Lille itself and also some time in Paris.
The location of this hotel is excellent. It is within a very easy walk of the Flandres station and conveiniently placed for the Eurostar link. And even though the Flandres station is visible from the hotel there is no disruption from passing rail traffic.
The hotel itself is very clean and well maintained. Breakfast is very well served with a good choice of hot and cold options. The serving staff were always pleasant. We actually had an evening meal in the hotel as well which was very good and far better than some hotel meal experiences that I have encountered.
The room we stayed in was very spacious. There was a Plasma telly with a good choice of television channels if your French is any good. There was also a well equipped gym on the top floor.
Parking is not provided by the hotel. However, there is a covered controlled car park next to the hotel. The daily charge was £10.
We both enjoyed our stay at hotel and are certain that we would choice this hotel again in the future.

Very well located hotel, 5 minute walk from the Grand Palais, 10 minute walk to the centre of the city, and 15 minutes to a huge shopping mall.
The rooms are wellsized. Clean, modern, with a fairly comfortable bed and bath/shower. No tea-making facilities though, but that wasn't much of an issue.
We booked 2 months in advance, so we got a rate of about 75EUR, including breakfast, which was very good value.
The breakfast was OK. The eggs weren't too great, but everything else was tasty - especially the pastries.
When in Lille again (and we are here quite often), we'll probably stay here.
