I recommend this hotel for: Older travelers, Tourists, Young singles, An amazing honeymoon.
We stayed here for 2 nights on a coach trip organised by a friend.
The hotel is very modern, with lovley rooms and bathrooms and is in a great city centre location.
Breakfast was a good start to the days of sightseeing and eating and drinking!
All in all an excellent weekend!

This hotel is very well situated in the centre of Mechelen and just near the canal.
It is very modern and clean with good spacious rooms.
My room had a very comfortable big bed, TV, hairdryer, mini bar and internet access ( to pay for).
There is a restaurant and bar at the hotel - but don't worry about eating in on an evening as there as some lovely restaurants close by.. I used the restaurant for breakfast which had a good selection of hot and cold food to suit all tastes.. the hotel was very busy when I stayed but the staff worked very hard to make sure that all food was on offer and the tables cleaned efficiently.
From the minute I arrived I felt very welcome with the staff and to sum it up yes I would stay again.

I had a most enjoyable 4 nights’ stay at Novotel Mechelen recently. It started with a very efficient welcome from the Reception staff after a long journey. I stay at Novotels quite often but this hotel will stay in my mind because of helpfulness of all the Reception staff. For example, I mentioned a name of a museum in town, and Sarah produced the printed information together with a marked map on how to get there the next morning. It is not often you get a service like this. Mariel also helped me a lot with information on restaurants and my flight and nothing was too much trouble. The room was modern and spotlessly clean.
Mechelen is not a famous town, but it is really worth visiting. There is a beautiful Cathedral and you can walk along the canal. It is also very convenient for day trips to Brussels, Antwerp, Leuven and Ghent and it is nice to get back to this peaceful town at the end of the day. For dinner try ‘Het Anker Brasserie’, attached to the award winning Anker Brewery. The beer and food are very good, but the service is shambolic.

I have recently been staying at the Novotel in Mechelen (8 weeks Mon- Fri) while I was looking for an apartment and found the free Gym an excellent addition. - although there was no emergency button so when I fell I was unable to call for help! There is an underground car park (11E per night) under the hotel and a late opening supermarkey nearby. The nearest Restaurant is the excellent PURA and the food at the Novotel isn't bad. Location is difficult without Satnav but its central position is ideal for walking out in the evening. Some very loud and strange noises inthe corridor at night were unsettling and the straff seemed totally uninterested - beware of the inward facing rooms as they have no facility for opening a window and the Aircon kept me awake.
Also beware of coach trips of elderly and pushy Germans!
Breakfasts at 15E are charged as a matter of course - you MUST tell them if you don't have it or choose the cheaper City breakfast!
