Tiawamutu has stayed here and says:
"Excellent hotel, right on the edge of the beautiful swan river. Situated in a nice quiet area, about 10 mins walk to the centerer of Perth. Just 5 mins walk from the hotel, along the banks of the Swan River, and you are at the ferry terminals that take you to Fremantle, Rottenest Island and other lovely..."

we stayed at the notovel for one night, as we were going to a concert in perth and live an hour away. Perth hotels are not that great for the price compared to the eastern states mainly queensland. But i was very pleased with our room it was quite large and comfortable. We check in with no trouble (but parking is a bit short) and that night had dinner at the irish pub that is in the the hotel and that was good to. In the morning we had a buffet breakfeast which was self serve and they kept the food filled up well. We checkout sometime after 11am but we could have stayed till 2pm if we want as that is part of the deal for a sunday checkout which I thought was great, no rush.

Shortcomings, but reasonable

At 6:30 a.m. the gentleman in the next room received a phone call. We heard the phone ring, and could hear the actual words of his conversation. We learned a little too much about the man in room 710 for so early in the morning. I don't think he was speaking particularly loudly--it's just that this hotel seems to have really poor insulation between rooms. And paying AUD$27.50 for an internet connection for 24 hours seems outrageous to me. The hotel is relatively clean and well-run otherwise. The front desk was very helpful in working around their non-working reservation system. It's your basic, bland, business-style hotel. If you don't have early-rising next door neighbours, and think that $27.50 a day is reasonable for an internet connection fee (I don't), you might enjoy staying here.

Great City Hotel - Fairly new decor, helpful staff, good breakfast and convenient location to see the sights and sounds of Perth. Some rooms have a nice view over the river, but most of the rooms overlook the roads. They are in the process of completing a new building next door, but should be completed in approx next 4 months. Would recommend, and would be very happy to stay there again.

A review from someone NOT on an Accor deal
Average rating: guest rating 9.1
stayed in Nov 2007

It seems from previous reviews, that if you have an Accor special, then you are looked after!!! Well here is a review from someone who stayed there as part of a tour group package... We have all been confirmed with non-smoking rooms, but that seemed to be "news" to Reception... a lot of us were allocated rooms on 10th floor - smoking! And it stunk! When we tried to move one couple to a non-smok, due health reasons, Reception response was "hotel full", so after a demand to speak to manager, they were moved. Seems strange to me that one specific tour operator (starts with A and ends with T), seems to always secure non-smoking for their tour groups! Wonder how that was achieved???? Two guesses..... Conceirge didn't even know where certain stores could be found in PER city, despite access to the Internet! Moving luggage from Lobby to rooms, took up to 1 hour! Buffett dinner (which stated as $48 in the lift), is a big rip-off. Also, even though they seem to cater for tours (APT, Scenic, etc.), at breakfast they do not seem to be able to clear tables, serve coffee/tea very efficiently. Also Housekeeping need a brush-up, left the dirty towels in the bathroom. So as I said, if you are NOT one of the select few who get a room or upgrade to overlooking the Swan River (none of us did!), then Novotel Langley is extremely "ORDINARY'. I would not stay there EVER again.
