A very average business hotel
Average rating: guest rating 6.0

An 'adequate' business hotel. Not in town centre. One good restaurant next door. Hotel somewhat dowdy....could do with a facelift. OK for one night's stay but definitely not a holiday destination.

We were going to De Efteling for a visit and needed somewhere to stay, having searched and searched I decided on the Novotel as it offered great value for money for people with children. Finding it - well - it is out of the way and sort of in the middle of nowhere so you do need a car, we used the TomTom to get us there, I do think we would have had problems finding it if we did not have TomTom to guide us, it was about 20 mins away from De Efteling On arrival we were warmly welcomed, we had just spent the day at De Efteling so we were very tired. The room was clean and modern with a large double bed and sofa bed for the children, it was a very good quality sofa bed that was easy to pull out, however, once it was out there was very little room left in the room. There was no bath but a fantastic shower instead, plenty of hot water and presure with the usual nicnacs supplied. That evening we used the resturant to eat, it was excellent, the children's menu was great value, it was 9 euros per child and they got a starter, main with side, pudding and drink, it was not your usual fishfingers and chips either, my kids had the fruit kebab to start, followed by baked salmon and veg whilst my other child had chicken thighs with potatoes and veg, followed by the usual ice cream, the meal came to 60 euros for all 4 of us which included a few beers. Breakfast was your usual European breakfast with fresh fruit, yogerts, cereal, bacon, eggs, danish and breads, all buffet style so you really could eat as much as you liked, there was plenty of choice for everyone. We stayed for two nights, the first night was 89 euros for the room including breakfast, the second night was 99 euros excluding breakfast, breakfast cost 15 euros each and children under 12 stay and have breakfast for free - they have different deals on so you will need to check out their website This hotel is nothing swish, it's just a very good 3 star hotel that is clean and safe, the food was very good and the children felt really cumfy there, if there was one complaint it would be that the rooms were too hot, we had the air con on, the window open but it was still too stuffy, maybe if there were not 4 of us it may be a different story If you have kids I don't think you will find a better place than this one as it was the only place I found that would take all 4 of us in a room and the added value of the kids staying and eating breakfast for free can't be beaten, it was a good base for a few days and I would definately stay at this hotel again for a few nights (as long as it was not too warm) it also has games and a pool (which was closed at the time we stayed) so it is geared up for families without being Butlins.

ok experience for car drivers

We stayed here with 2 children after visiting De Efling. It was a little difficult to find but was clean and had a good restaurant and free parking. Location is not great - 10 minutes from Breda, but it was adequate fro a night and the breakfast was fine and free for shildren.

Typical Novatel, but with surprisingly good menu
Average rating: guest rating 7.5

I've stayed here numerous times when travelling on business. It is just a typical Novatel but the rooms are large and clean and the staff were very friendly. The restaurant is actually pretty good and I found the standard of food really above what I was expecting (which is a blessing as there is little else nearby). The wine and beer selection was good also. Great for business travel, but tourists would be better suited closer to the town centre.
