I recommend this hotel for: Older travelers, Tourists, Young singles, An amazing honeymoon.
Decent rooms and great breakfast. Make sure you specify what type of beds you want if you ask for a double. We ended up with twin beds pushed together. Clean and professionaly run.

First a tip - Having booked this place on Expedia for a very low price (€79), I then found it for even less on the Mercure site itself.
Quite why it's so cheap is beyond me. Maybe the location is not the most fashionable, but they had the place packed out when I stayed there, with a corporate event.
It's standard Accor stuff - plain, smart rooms, soulless lobby, corridors etc (but what would you expect?). That's the beauty of the chains - at least you know what to expect, and sometimes when you're on a business trip, you just want a guaranteed standard and facilities over style and character.
There is a fairly good Wellness Centre in the basement, with fitness equipment and a sauna and solarium, and, I know it's a small thing, but a fridge with foil packed orange juice for exercisers to help themselves to!
The dinner was mixed. A dreadful, salty starter was followed by a sublime fillet steak.
A potential flash-point in the morning turned into a real positive for me. I did not expect to be faced with 100+ delegate-types at 6.30 in the morning at breakfast, but that's what I got! Not pleasant fighting your way through a 6-thick line of people to the croissants. When I told the reception that the dining room was full, they had no hesitation in opening up their bistro especially for me! They even came and served the coffee to me even though I was in there on my own.
A decent stopover, and as I was in the car, it was a good base for Stuttgart (took about 20 minutes to drive in).

We are sorry that the previous reviewer did not like this hotel as we found it ideal for our stopover on the way down to Italy. The gentleman on reception was friendly and efficient and spoke good english, a big help as we spoke very little german. The bedroom was very clean, comfortable and a reasonable size. The breakfast was great and served in our room made a relaxing start to the day. Only complaint was the 7 Euro charge for parking (not advised before arrival) but the outside car park of reasonable size does have a barrier control(operated by the hotel reception). Our evening meal in the restaurant was good and reasonably priced with good service. We would stay there again.
