Good position dircectly opposite railway station. Ten minutes leisurely walk through shops to central old district. Wonderful breakfast. Very friendly helpful staff. Good restaurants near to hotel 40% cheaper than those in the centre. Very comfortable bed and bathroom. We were upgraded to a huge room.

I had the pleasure of being a guest at the Alfa for 2 weeks in October, 2007. We had wonderful accomodations, great service and enjoyable well prepared meals in the grille. I thought the rates were very reasonable. The location is excellent if you use the bus and/or trains to travel about. The next time I go to Luxembourg I plan to stay at the Alfa again. I highly recommend the Alfa!

We stayed at the Hotel Alfa in Luxembourg for three nights. The front desk staff was very helpful and patient with us! The restaurant staff was so incredibly nice - they helped to make us feel at home! The hotel is in a great location if traveling by bus or train - just across from the station. We had a rental car, and had to park a few blocks away (down a street filled with cabarets and "girl show" establishments). The hotel is in the process of building underground parking, which should be ready in Spring 2009. We had a letter in our room about possible noise due to construction - we did not hear anything (we were on the 2nd Floor). Our party had two rooms, one facing the street and one a small court area. Both rooms were remarkably quiet. The rooms were nice, and had safes and minibars. The hotel is a short walk (~15 minutes) from the central town area. Overall, we were pleased with the hotel.

Abbiamo appena trascorso un weekend a Lussemburgo (20/22 aprile) e abbiamo alloggiato in questo hotel. Si trova di fronte alla stazione dei treni, quindi la zona è piuttosto trafficata. Dall’hotel si può raggiungere a piedi la città vecchia. Le camere sono confortevoli e relativamente spaziose. Quelle sul retro sono più tranquille. Tuttavia stanno preparando dei lavori di costruzione accanto, ed essere svegliati alle 6 di un sabato mattina dalle macchine non è proprio quello che ti aspetteresti da una vacanza di un weekend… Il personale era molto cordiale e disponibile. La colazione a buffet buona. A parte il problema del rumore del sabato mattina, è un bel posto in cui soggiornare.

My wife and I just stayed 5 nights at the Grand Hotel Alfa. It is not the fist time I have stayed there but I am pleased to say that it is just as good as always. The room was very spacious, with a comfortable, king sized bed, and was well appointed with furniture and other facilities (e.g. flat panel TV, Mini bar, etc.). The bathroom was clean and had all the accessories (shampoo, etc.) that one has come to expect in any modern hotel. The buffet breakfast was very good indeed. However, if we wanted more coffee, or ordered something bespoke like an omelette, service was not always the best. The Alfa is positioned 12-15 minutes picturesque walk from the town centre where the majority of the shops and restaurants are located. However, there is a bus station directly opposite the Alfa with buses leaving every few minutes to the centre, also there are plenty of shops and restaurants near by the hotel should you wish to stay nearby. I highly recommend this hotel. Over the past 18 years I have stayed in many of Luxembourg's hotels and I must say that the Alfa is one of the best regardless of price. And, it is good to see that their consistant standard is still being upheld.
