A nice little motel just of the main highway (E4). Cheap and clean. If a bed for the night is what you need, this is the place to go in Jonkoping, as it is just of the main road when going north/south. They seem to always have open. I've knocked at the entrance at 0300 in the night and there has always been somebody answering, although the persons have been somewhat ruffled. Kudos for keeping the professionalism even though awakened in the middle of the night! The rooms are small, but it's not like one is going to spend more time than necessary there, ie for sleeping only. The beds are nice and have no "holes" in the middle. The motell is also very quiet, although it's about 200-300m from a main thorougfare. They have a small restaurant of sorts in the motel, with a varied mainstream menu. However, it's not entirely sure they have all the dishes "on stock". The meals range from about SEK 50-110. They also have alcoholic beverages. The breakfast is quite extensive, being such a small motel. I feel the meal prices are somewhat high though, especially the breakfast. Otherwise Ibis Jonkoping is a great place to stay, if only for the night.

Ibis Jonkoping 2 a two fllor 65-70 room hotel 20 min walk from the city center. It is a small but beautiful hotel. And the price is quite reasonable. 420 SEK at the weekend. And 55 SEK for the breakfast. And the room price is for two. It is 20 min by walk from the city terminal. or you can take No1 bus to reach the hotel. Or take a taxi which may probably cost 60 SEK. You can feel yourself at home in Ibis Jonkoping. you feel like at the kitchen of your home in the breakfast. The staff is really friendly and take care of your questions everytime. There is en extra bed at the room for the third person. the rooms are very clean.Jonkoping is a small city near the lake Vattern. You can reach there by plane, by bus from Stockholm or by train. The price for bus ticket is 285 SEK from stockholm to Jonkoping. For a train ticket you have to pay 850-900 SEK. Train journey lasts 3 hours and bus trip takes 4,5 hours to Jonkoping. I have stayed in Ibis Jonkoping. But if you want to stay right at the city center then I may advise John Bauer or Scandic Portalen. But they are more expensive. the city bus transport system is quite well. So if you get a card for 200SEK you can use that money in the card when you take a bus and get different discounts depending on the time of the day.I could not travel museums because I was at the fair the whole day. But I also do not thing there is much to see at Jonkoping's museums. There is a pool near the Elmia fair center. You may swim for 1,5 hours for 45 SEK. AND WHAT TO EAT.. after a long and tiring day you need to eat a good dinner at a restaurant with good music and some good wine. Then I will advise GADDEN & GASEN . The restaurant is at Barnarpsgatan 24. Find the Scandic Portalen at the city center. Turn your fave to the entrance. Then go left for 3-4 meters and then turn right. Walk through the street for 150 m you will see that restaurant on your right. Ask for a special swedish meal. Then they may advise you 2-3 local meals. I ate some meat. It is served with some potatoes but on a wooden plate. The meat and the potatoes are cooked on the wooden plate so the smell of wood deeply enters the beef. there is a special souce at the top. The potatoes were also delicious. you may find different kinds of wine also. One bottle of wine is approximately 150 SEK. And the main courses range from 100-160 SEK. It is a reasonable price for Sweden because even in a fast food restaurant you can eat a hamburger menu for 60 SEK. Tel for GADDAN & GASEN is 036-161410. I walked through all the restaurants in the city. the Svarta Bösen ( I hope the name is true ) is also good but the prices are much higher there. But it is also a good restaurant. If you prefer to eat American or Italian food the Twin City is an alternative. But in any case if you are used to live in a metropolitan like Istanbul, you will find Jonkoping a little boring after 1 week. Because the weather gets dark at 4 pm and every shopping center ( except A6 ) is closed after 18.00. It is probably spring or summer to visit Jonkoping . Then you may find time to see the lakes, beautiful environment etc. hope you these would help your stay in Jonkoping. To summarize.Stay at Ibis jonkoping for reasonable price but 20 min walk to the city center.John Bauer or scandic portalen for city center but higher pricesand eat at GADDAN & GASEN...Thats all folks,
