Nice Hotel, about half an hours walk from the City Centre. One of the most reasonably priced in Utrecht (which is, generally speaking an expensive place to stay).
Rooms a little small, but acceptable. I stayed in Room 302, which has been specially decorated with an aboriginal art theme, very unusual.
Food is a bit samey and the "potato garnish" that appears on the menu was usually chips (fries, if you are an American reading this).
Staff cheerful and helpful.

I used to like the hotel and its restaurant, but have since then had to revise my opinion. The hotel has been redecorated, which is fine, but the restaurant, of which we kept a pleasant memory -- our little granddaughter was treated like a princess, and in her own language, too -- has now changed for the worse. Ibis used to have a one- two- or three- dish formula which has now given way to a menu with limited resources. The shrimps in our shrimp cocktail were still frozen and the wine (no choice of wines) a very ordinary plonk. The Sunday morning croissants were small and dry. Nothing like before.
The restaurant sported no non-smokers' section. And our non-smokers' room smelt of stale tobacco, and more smoke came in during the night via the ventilation system, possibly from the room next door or underneath.

On first impresions a slightly more upmarket Ibis than many. Located outside the old town with a free car park.
I stayed there during the recent heatwave and really suffered from the excessive wamth of the rooms. Worst of all was the restaurant. If it does have aircon it is totally inadequate. The meal I had was so so. But adding in the heat & it became one of the most uncomfortable dining experiences ever.
Far better to forget eating in the hotel & head into the old town, which is lovely. The only major hassle is car parking. Very few spaces and all metered.
Apart from that bulk standard Ibis with clean rooms & good value prices.
