We booked to stay here for some of the rugby world cup as we thought that it would be easy to get to and from the Stade de France. We were disappointed with the area. I had looked at the tourism website for Epinay before we booked and it looked nice but the hotel area was not one I would go out after dark in. The room itself was tiny, OK for the price, but it was also shabby with a broken shower and mouldy bathroom. The reception was clean enough but the staff barely spoke a word despite me speaking fluent french. It was relatively easy to catch a bus to near the Stade but getting a taxi back was nearly impossible. The taxi drivers weren't prepared to go that far out!
In the end we cancelled the rest of our stay and spent more on a room near the city centre. You get what you pay for!

Ibis is part of the Accor so I signed up with the Accor Hotels Mouvango program (free) to get points for possibly other stays and booked this through Accor. I found that there a many Ibis Hotels all over Europe.
Getting to the hotel is a pain....first at CDG get a train pass for the amount of days you will be in Paris..this allows you to use the train and the buses. To get to Epinay after you get the ticket go to the infomation desk and have them direct you to the proper train to take to Epinay..most speak enough English to help. Once you arrive at the Epinay stop go up the steps, be prepared to walk a lot.. turn right into the station go out the front and straight ahead you will see the Tabac shop go straight past it and down that street to the major intersection it is about a 5 min walk..immediately in front of you accross the street is the hotel. The lobby is clean, there is a breakfast area where they have the traditional continental breakfast..no eggs..no restaurant as we had thought..the sell beer on tap at the bar/counter where you check in.no free internet service you can pay which is 4.50 euro for 1 hour..
It has an elevator, we were on the 3rd floor. During the night there was a water leak that had the floor on one side of the bed wet..we were moved to the 2nd floor with no problem. The bed was not comfortable, bathroom small, room very small with dinky closet space. We dined at a local restaurant where we were told that we were in the getto of Paris !!! not sure I would think this as the homes were quaint on the walk from the train station but this is what the waiter said.
We would not stay there again because of the distance into Paris . If you want to go to Paris stay near the Gare du Nord area, Gare du Lyon or the Eiffel tower area and pay a little more.

The good: cheap; located in a quiet area; close (within a 10 minute walk) to a metro/train stop; friendly staff; accomodations were pleasant but small with a nice bathroom and air conditioning; there were several stores close to the metro station including a patisserie and two small convenience stores.
Because of its location outside the city there were a few things to note that weren't great: getting from the airport to the hotel took several changes of metros and trains and was difficult with heavy luggage; It took between 20-30 minutes to get to different areas in Paris via the metro/train from the hotel; there were very few people in the area who spoke English and there were very few restaurants so eating was difficult especially later at night; and phone cards could not be used with the hotel phones but there were pay phones right outside the hotel.
All in all, I would go back if I knew I were taking less luggage - it was nice being outside the city in a small area and so close to transportation.
