I recommend this hotel for: Gay/lesbian travelers.
We stayed at this hotel for a couple of days in the end of May. The service was excellent from we booked in till we left. The hotel has a contious nice decor, big spacious rooms, and comfortable beds. Loved the fitness center that is located on the top floor, with a nice view of the city. The breakfast was also very nice, with a large array of tasty choices. The location is very convenient. Would definately recommend the hotel, and stay here again at a future occasion.

I stayed at this hotel back in 2005, during a 1st of May week-end in St. Petersburg. I found quite a good rate on Corinthia website, I mean, quite a good rate for a luxury hotel in Russia! The ycan be so expensive! We had a standard twin room, which was ok in size and with a large and well-equipped bathroom. Beds were comfy, and sat tv was available. Reception desk staff was polite, yet not too much helpful. From a top-notch hotel you would expect more, to be honest. The lobby was nice, with enough armchairs and sofas to accommodate eveyone. The hotel boasts a well-equipped fitness room, swimming-pool and sauna. Very nice to relax a bit, and chill out from the stressing wind and cold of this beautiful city! A special mention to the hotel's main restaurant. We had a FABOLOUS sunday brunch there, with free flowing vodka, wine, sparkling wine... Good selection of food and GREAT quality! Really, a must if you're in town! All in all, this is a very good hotel, a solid 4 stars but not fully a 5 stars. Anyway, if you choose this hotel I'm sure you won't be disappointed!

Three of us booked four nights in a superior room at the Corinthia Nevskij . I thought the room was a little bit too small, the Hotel promptly upgraded us to a one bedroom suite. It was also my birthday while we were there. Wine , chocolates and a Teddy Bear were presented to me by the Hotel. How can you ever fault such service? The staff were wonderful. We also took the Hotel taxi, well worth the little bit extra for such a lovely car and driver, a touch of style. We met wonderful locals, they are friendly people and they like to party . I have stayed at a Corinthia Hotel in Prague and it was every bit as good. I would highly reccomend this Hotel. Friendly, immaculate and great location. Resroration was in progress at the Hotel but of no disruption to us.

We booked our stay direct with the hotel on a special 3 day white winter nights package which included Airport pick up, a russian gift, Theatre, daily breakfast and a supplemented meal at the hotel. Room upgrade if available. This was exceptionally good value when compared to local prices at all the 5 star properties. 232E each night + tax 18%. They upgraded us to a suite at no charge and we paid extra for Club Level which was 50E +Tax ,daily for the room but this enabled us to use the private lounge for; Free Internet, coffee/tea with nibbles &cakes in the daytime and snacks with alcoholic drinks in the evenings. Very good service and a big advantage during the winter months when you are glad to get back to warmth of hotel only to get hit by very high prices. All outlets in hotel are pricey BUT unfortunately not for good service or food particulaly, therefore you begrudge paying top notch for them. Breakfast is good . Plenty of usuial choices including Russian Champagne and caviar if you want. The beer stube pub style restaurant food was quite terrible with surly service. Cold food with unusual style sauces . The Vienna cafe had a nice range of cakes and ice cream etc. with a menu selection that price compared to room service. EX. Chicken Club sandwich with chips about 10 pounds. The current restorations will push this hotel into a truly 5 star situation when completed Spring /Summer 2008. Also to note that the work does not hinder your stay here at all, other than the lack of a super large restaurant. Fitness centre - very good. and free. Reception and Concierge here at the hotal are excellent . Very helpfull polite. All staff always knew our name and were immediate in their support and guidance during our stay. Again at all extras at cost and not cheap mind you. EX 3.5 hour private tour with hotel car and english speaking quide for two of us which included St Peter palace and the Church entrance prices was in total 180 pounds. Our guide was very knowledgable and easy to talk to. You can plan this in advance with a local website, which came highly receommended, russian tourguides, but we had never needed this before and were scepticle . Don't be . You need a guide here to apreciate all that there is to see. It doesn't jump out at you like other cities. Our guide tole ud that they only get 30 days of full sunshine each year ! In Winter St petersburg is Hard work......... The splendour only really gets you once inside the most of the beautiful buildings /Museums/Churches etc.. Think carefully about this. This hotel is in a wonderfully busy prospect ( Street ) with great shopping, bars and restaurants right next to the hotel, but it is a good 25 minutes to The Hermitage Palaces 15 mins to Blood Church etc. In Summer perhaps great but in Winter ,it's street's are always wet ,muddy and very cold. You really appreciate the taxi service of the hotel. We have never resorted to using taxi's in any otheer winter city break. Even Rome which by comparison also is a huge city. Theatre _ We saw Swan Lake, quite Magical. Included in our package with excellent seats . Thank you Corinthia . Used hotel car again 25E total which was both ways . Very Good especially when you come out of the theatre with lots of bedlam around and your driver is there ready. Visa etc. Hotel were very helpfull and provide your Russian Invitation letters with the translations quickly by email. Log on to Russian embassy Llondon and fill in the online application form . It is very easy. Just sounds complicated. 45 pounds by post and 95 pounds if you collect same day. We did have a great weekend and surprisingly, the hotel was one of the main reasons, very clean organised and safe. We found the grey overcast weather very dull and the buildings really only look beautifull from the outside when seen at night. Then they are amazing. We would recomend a taxi tour of the sites at night ending with Dinner at a local top class restaurant ( not a hotel ) Enjoy St Petersburg. We would recomend and go back to The Corinthia Nevski again, but I doubt that we would plan a future trip to this city.

The hotel is situated on the main street (Nevsky Prospect) and is approximately half an hour walk to the main attractions of the Winter Palace, Hermitage, etc. The room was very well appointed but not luxuriously so. The breakfast room was quite adequate with a good selection of food. The staff on reception, when we arrived, were pleasant and spoke adequate English. Many Russian people are not overly friendly on first contact and some travellers may find this off-putting when comparing them to other countries' service standards. The hotel is only a short walk to the main Moscow train station and an even shorter walk to a metro station. Taxis are hard to find in Russia and we did not want to use the "private" taxis which are just privately owned residents' vehicles. There is quite a good selection of restaurants in the hotel as well as nearby. The hotel is not cheap to dine in! Overall a good standard of hotel which cost us 287 euros per night including breakfast.
