Old and tired

I recommend this hotel for: Tourists, Young singles.
Have had to stay there many times over the past few years and nothing has been done to the rooms. Currently they are renovating the building from the outside, but nothing is being done to the inside. The rooms are tired, old, the carpet is worn, the bed is not very comfortable anymore, some rooms smell of smoke.. Definitely needs a refresh. Cleanliness is not an issue, room service does the best it can.
In fact, this hotel has got only 3 good things to say about it:
a) Location is superb in the centre of Enschede
b) Breakfast is large, fresh with a wide variety of choice
c) Staff is always very professional and friendly
If there was a good alternative in the center of Enschede I would take it, alas, there isn't any.

If you want to be near Twente and want larger, nicer rooms, choose the Broeierd Hotel instead. For the same price, you'll get much more value and rustic charm.
The Dish Hotel is very functional. The best part of the hotel are the views. I was on the 15th floor and had a nice view of the entire city from the small balcony.
The rooms are small, but not horribly so. My "double bed" was two tiny single beds pushed together, so you can fall through the middle during the night. Sheets were rough and uncomfortable, but none of this is unusual for the Netherlands.
I did not eat in the restaurant. Breakfast is not included and 15 euros, which is ridiculous, but again normal for the NL.
This is a very functional, business-oriented hotel. Fine but dull.
