"We stayed in Westin Long Beach prior to our cruise and found it to be a great experience. I read the trip advisor reviews and often find them petty but "you can't please everyone"! We were right near the attractions for the area, i.e the Queen MAry, Aquarium etc. and found Roscoe's Waffles and Chicken..."

This hotel is very nice. It's located right across the street from the convention center and a short walk down to the water. I stayed in a room with a King Bed. The bathroom was wonderful...a very nice shower and the toiletries provided smelled great. The bed was very comfortable. Free Starbucks coffee can be brewed in the room, although you do have to call down to the desk to get the key for the mini bar. The hotel restaurant was good enough if a little overpriced and the outside seating by the bar was very enjoyable. Service was impecable. My only (very minor) complaints were that I was put in a back room with a view onto a parking garage and that if you want to use the internet with your labtop in your room you have to pay an extra $10/day. There is free wi-fi in the lobby if you're willing to work down there. Overall, this is a very nice hotel.

I used Priceline once again to book a hotel in Long Beach. I did so with the intention of hopefully getting the Westin, as I had stayed at this establishment numerous times in years past. I don't know if I just never noticed, but during my most recent stay, the hotel just seemed run down. I'm sure that it gets beat up with it constantly staying at full capacity, but the maintenance department must do something to keep up. My worst complaint about this stay was the upkeep of the carpets. As we got off the elevator on the 11th floor, the carpet was absolutely filthy. It looked like it had not been vacuumed in weeks. As you inspected more closely, there were tons of stains and bleach stains as well. It seemed like every few feet or so there was some sort of stain. The carpet in our room was a little better, but you could definitely tell that it was worn down and there were minor stains as well. As I've stated in previous reviews, my main concern/objective when booking a hotel is that it is CLEAN. Be it a Motel 6 or the Ritz Carlton. The Westin failed this time around. Were it not for the friendly staff and bell men, I would have almost rated the hotel terrible.

Do take in the gorgeous lobby when you enter the property. Don't go there for the pool scene. This appears to be more of a business/convention hotel. There is a pool but it is somewhat small and does not have any views. Do use the workout facility. Very good equipment, including weight equipment. Don't expect a refrigerator in your room. There is a mini bar and there is a charge if you empty it and put in your own stuff. Do expect GREAT beds. Do expect comfortable rooms with good work areas. Do expect GREAT shower heads and water pressure. Do try the bar for drinks, and hopefully Hermie will be working. Great guy! Don't expect free parking. Self parking is $14/day and is very convenient. It is worth it. There is a pay lot directly to the north and east so you may be able to save some money if you so chose. Do try the Omellete Inn and Clancy's (off property) for breakfast. Beware, Clancy's is a dive bar! Do have drinks at the Dubliner on Pine and the Rock Bottom Brewery. Don't spend money on drinks and food at the marina. Walk it, enjoy it but for the most part it is expensive and not that great. We did not eat at the Westin so try it and write a review! Overall we had an excellent stay and recommend the hotel.

Booked this property using starpoints as I had to be at the TSA located next door for my son to get documentation. Had emailed in advance about parking and roll away beds. They charge 20 for the bed which was brought up promptly and the parking is 14 per night but confusing to get to, go underground and then there is another level beneath this one. Got there at 1:30 and was checked in by Tatiana and was offered a 7th floor room or room 1635 near the elevator. We choose the upper floor and usually prefer to be away from the elevator but really didn't hear it at all. We did hear a car alarm going off for an hour on Sunday morning which I'm sure woke everyone up in the hotel. Our room overlooked the city and pool. The jacuzzi was not clean so passed on that but the fitness area was nice. The ceiling was high and the windows are also with a nice view but they don't open and the air is not too forcefull so it felt stagnant. The bath was nice but small, like the room and the ceiling paint was peeling, probably the wrong type for moisture and the bedroom had the cottage cheese ceiling. They do give you a bottle of water and bathrobe and the flat screen tv was nice but the room size would be better with smaller and less furnishings. The mini bar was locked so I couldn't use the corkscrew which other Westins have out freely. I wouln't stay there again, as I prefer rooms with balconys and windows that open but it is nicely located and in walking distance to everything. Typical great service from the conciege, front desk and housekeeping.

We booked through Hotwire for $100 a night for a king size heavenly bed double room. I thought this was a good rate. Room size was good. Had a view of pool on 9th floor. We were right next to vending and ice machine but never heard anyone use them. Bed was okay. Loved the shower. Breakfast buffet in morning was $18 a person pricey but very good. The concierge printed out our boarding passes so we didn't have to pay for internet. Liked the hotel for price I paid. Best western was more expensive than $100.
