The Swan is very nice, clean room and helpful staff. The location is nice near the Boardwalk for eating and evening playing. Great to be able to walk to Epcot. The only thing missing here is the total Disney experience by not being a Disney property. My family and I have been several times and we missed the Mickeys everywere and the fun atmosphere. I would stay here when the kids have grown so to have the quiet of the hotel. The only down side was most of the restaurants were in the Dolphin along with the laundry and a small snack area. Believe it or not there are no vending machines in the Swan.

Just returned with family and friends from one week stay at Disney Swan from the 30th June until 7th July 2008. It was fantastic. Then went on to the Hard rock hotel for a week (also brilliant)
Was a little worried after reading previous reviews about going but we were pleasantly surprised. We even got a free room upgrade. It was on the third floor of the east wing with a balcony overlooking the beach...aah...blissful. Maid service was exceptional and the room was fresh, clean, relaxing and had the best bed ever. I wish I could buy one.
Troy on reception was very helpful as were all of the staff.
The swan is perfectly positioned for all of the Disney parks, has excellent transport, tasty food, is in a beautiful setting, luxurious with a little Disney magic. We dined with Goofy and Pluto.
I will definitely stay at this hotel again and in fact any Westin hotel if its anything like this one.

I stayed at this hotel the last week of June 2008. The room was spacious with very comfortable beds. Location was great - walk or boat to Epcot and the old MGM and walk to Boardwalk. The gym was large and very modern.
They do nickel and dime you for everything but you are told that in advance so it's not an issue.
The valet parking was amazing - I would call for my car, head to lobby and the car was there.
The pools were nice and not crowded. We ate at the Dolphin for lunch and the food (burgers, fries, etc) was excellent and not expensive.
This is a great hub for a Disney vacation.

I am a traveler in my late twenties and don't have kids. My boyfriend and I came to OrIando to attend a wedding and decided to make a vacation out of it. I knew that Disney World was not going to be the most romantic or peaceful vacation for us and did not have very high expectations but was pleasantly surprised with the Swan. The lobby was calm and peaceful and smelled lovely. We had meals in all of the restaurants (Kimonos, Il Mulino and Garden Grove for breakfast) and both the service and food were great. And the lap pool right outside the Swan was never crowded. There were always fresh towels waiting on the chairs and servers came around frequently to take drink orders.
We walked over to the Dolphin to eat and to use Mandara Spa and found this hotel to be much more hectic. There was a talent competition taking place there and there were a lot of kids running around until pretty late at night. Also, I got the sense that the service was not quite the same. We spent part of one day at the larger Grotto pool and had to get our own towels and there was no one coming around for drink orders. Don't get me wrong, I had no problems at the Dolphin and it was very nice inside as well. I just didn't feel the same personal touch that I got with the Swan.
Our room was fine. Not great. Not bad. Just fine. We had 2 queen beds, a flat screen tv, no balcony. There were a lot of raves about the "heavenly" beds. They were ok. A step above a typical hotel mattress but I was not going out of my mind for them. The size of the room was manageable and it was great to have an additional sink outside the bathroom. The room was clean. We had no issues with housekeeping. They always replaced our toiletries, coffee and towels.
In terms of location, the hotel is in walking distance to Epcot (in my opinion, it's more of a headache to take the boat than it is to take a ten minute walk). It is also right next to Disney's boardwalk and Beach and Yacht clubs. The boardwalk is a great place to walk around, eat or drink. You do have to take buses to Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom and several of the other parks. But they pick you up and drop you off directly outside the hotel
A minor complaint was that there were no quick places to have a bite to eat. The Java bar was open in the morning and we grabbed muffins and coffee there but it was not open throughout the day.
Overall, I enjoyed my stay and would return on a future trip to Disney World. It is a great choice for couples without kids looking to have a more "adult" Disney World experience.
