Very good; perfect with weekend rate!

Stayed a weekend in June. Very good location opposite the train station and near shopping district. Will be even better, if construction works in front of railway station are once finished. Rooms very clean and nicely decorated (probably some towels could be renewed), but as said before, more business stile than old hotel experience. Stuff quite friendly and quick. I skipped the breakfast as 27 Euro for what was offered seemed overpriced. Absolutely fantastic the weekend rates: With 99 Euro per night and the standard offered, the hotel is hardly to beat, especially in the high priced Netherlands where overall hotel standards seems to be less top quality.

overnight stay on sunday night. spg member.
+ central location/nice clean modern rooms/ attractive lobby/good weekend deals
average= overall impression not to 5* standards; eg breakfastbuffet nothing special, no napkins at table, no excuse offered either. at check in no spg room offered , despite 2 floors dedicated as spg room and staff stating that you are spg member.
no turn down service/chocolate etc
shower very small
rooms to hot, no windows to open,(4th floor) airco took few hours to cool down the room. sink tub not working properly. minibar drinks eg heineken can at 6e 50, ... slightly overpriced.
no proper leisure opportunities
morning newspaper at the door but after returning from breakfast taken away, then again not sure if it was housekeeping.
all in all minor issues but not living up expectations for a westin /5*

Before taking a 6 am flight from Rotterdam to Paris I decided to stay the night before in Rotterdam.
The hotel itself has a perfect location. Right across the central station and in the middle of the city centre. It looks really good and modern from the outside as well from the inside!
At arrival the staff was still kind of nice, I asked them if they could wake me up at 4 o clock, and not telling my little brother anything about his surprise for going to Paris. This was no problem at all.
At 4 am we woke up, and as requested we received some kind of "breakfast package" (1 orange, 1 apple, 1 sandwich)... With this package came a bill of 60 euro (!!!!!). I don't mind paying, but first of all our breakfast was included, and second I expect something if I pay 60 euros.
I called to reception, and please believe me: you never heard anybody more grumpy than the persons I spoke to. Literally moaning and complaining all the time that it was so early.
For the location I might choose this hotel again, but for the service you better can pick a different hotel.

I travelled to Rotterdam for 2 days for work and got a good deal at the Westin.
Coming out of Rotterdam airport, turn left and walk for 20 yards to get a bus to Rotterdam Central station. This is very cheap ( i didn't pay, the driver let me on for free ) and takes about 10/15 minutes. The bus stops literally outside of the hotel.
The hotel itself is very nice and only a few minutes from the main street of Rotterdam. I got an upgrade of the room to a 'Starwood Preferred Room ', I'm not really sure of the difference but it was large and clean. And if you're from the UK, the TV also has BBC1 & 2.
My only gripe is the room has a network cable but you have to pay for the internet which I thought was a bit cheeky.
Would definitely stay there again though.
