Yuck - stained sheets and bad amenities

This hotel was just gross. The first room I was given had such a string smell of bleach that it made my eyes water. Then there was the bed with a sheet that had a huge stain that hadn't washed out completely - looked like a bloodstain.
Finally, everything is cheap - no full length mirror, shampoo but no conditioner in the rooms, stained rugs, curtains that don't block all of the light coming in the windows...

My husband travels frequently and I generally go with him; when the hotel opened it was our favorite place to stay of anywhere on our business travels. After not staying in Fayetteville for a couple years, we returned for an event and I have to say, the Wingate is beginning to show its age. The carpets were dirty, the beds uncomfortable, the towels thin and shabby, and the tub had cracked caulking around it. The AC had a musty smell to it, also.
However, the hot water was extremely hot and the tub nice and much larger than the average hotel.
The breakfast--well, there was a problem there. Most hotels offer continental breakfast until 9:30 or even 10:00 on the weekends--this place shuts down at 9:00 am. I came down at 9:03 and the food was GONE, which means that they started putting it away before 9:00 because that counter was just about spotless. That was pretty annoying.
I think we'll try the new Hilton next time.

Booked two rooms at this hotel to see my son who was coming back to Ft. Bragg from Iraq. The hotel itself is not bad, getting a bit worn around the edges but clean. The carpet had some stains on it and a tile or two in the bathroom was chipped. Had no problems finding parking and the staff were all very pleasant. There is a free breakfast included with the room as well as a newspaper delivered to your door in the morning. The rooms have small fridges, microwaves, coffee pots. Overall, I wouldn't say it was a bad stay but for the prices in the area, am often amazed that the hotels aren't a bit better maintained.

We were totally pleased with our stay here.
Everyone from the front desk to house keeeping went out of their way to see that we got what we wanted.
Altho we didn't like paying $92.00 per night. the free breakfast in the morning make up the difference of having to eat out.
Great location too!!

Nice hotel, too far off I-95

We really like Wingate Inns and haven't stayed in ine that we didn't like. This was a nice hotel. It' near restaurants or they aren't too far. Room was huge and very spacious. (Love those King study type rooms!) We try to book these type of rooms often because we get the king bed and 2 DD's get the pull out sofa. It more comfortable than the standard 2 double beds. My only complaint (opps have 2 complaints) is 1. it's too far off of I-95. I picked this hotel because non of the other hotels appealed to me and seem to be run down and ragged from all the travelers and also all the military visitors. And 2. because the continental breakfast was extremely weak! Not much to chose from at all. Of all the continental breakfasts we've had (which is many) including other Wingates this was just not worth the time to walk downstairs. Just get a box of Pop Tarts because that's basically what they did. (Not exactly..but you get the jist of it.) Otherwise it was a nice place to stay.
