We spent one night here on a recent trip to France and Spain. This is pretty much what we expect from a 3-star French hotel---clean, quiet, and pretty comfortable but nothing to write home about. The room and bathroom were on the small side, but that's what we expected. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was impressive for such a small hotel. The biggest drawback was that the hotel is not really within walking distance of the chateau and the "intown" area of Amboise. My husband and I love to walk when we travel, but the distance was too great for one of our fellow travelers. I would certainly consider staying here again but would want to look at other options in the Loire Valley as well.

My wife & I (Americans in our 60s) spent 2 nights at the Hotel
Le Vinci during a 3 week trip to France & Switzerland in late
May 2008. I had booked their 2 night package that included
breakfast for 149 Euro (~$235). Without a doubt, this hotel had
the largest, most modern room (and bathroom) of any hotel we
stayed in during this trip. The breakfast, especially the
coffee, was very good. We did use the car to go back to Amboise
center in the evening but there was plenty of free parking
(the metered spots are free after 1830). A very nice place to
eat dinner in Amboise is Restaurant L'Amboiserie. Sit outside
on the terrace and order one of their dinner crepes and if
you're not too full, one of their dessert crepes.

I recently spent one night at the Le Vinci and I loved everything about my stay. They had free parking, free internet access and were just a short drive from the center of Amboise. Being a bit out of town made it a very quiet place. The staff were friendly, spoke English and were helpful with directions etc. This was one of my favorite hotels during my trip through France.

We stayed here for 3 nights with our infant son. The staff were fantastic, they spoke excellent english (our french is below average). The facilities were modern and extremely clean. We were travelling around with a car and you would need a car to stay here it is a little way out from the restaurants. Excellent.
