This cute pink Victorian style property's lobby smells like my dear deceased grandma's house, delicious food cooking, a bit of stale cigarette smoke. I felt very at home here.
Our room was on the first floor. It was spacious, full of light and clean. The floors are old, so they squeak when you walk, but it's not irritating, it's sort of charming.
Breakfast was unremarkable, normal German fare. But, dinner in the restaurant (beer garden) down stairs was lovely. Try the steak with herb butter, so much cholesterol, but delicious. It was really nice to be able to have a few beers with food and then take the little elevator up to the room.
The hotel is run by a real live family--three generations with the youngest being a precious baby boy. Service is genuine, but relaxed. The mother of the family helped us book bicycles and remembered to give us a guest card to save us money, without us having to remind her.
The hotel is right next to the Kurpark, which is an idyllic place to stroll and enjoy the little pond and fountain. Orchestras play there fairly often. There's a small garden on the property too. Nice to stroll around after dinner.
Make sure you visit the Italian Ice restaurant in "downtown" Bad Aibling. That place and the Hotel Johannisbad make Bad Aibling a neat place to spend a few days.
