Stayed here beginning of June was a bit apprehensive about staying, but on arrival was pleasantly surprised, the front of the hotel is the reception and restaurant/bar which is very nice. The rooms are of average hotel size but furnished well and nice bathroom. Staff were excellent and pool area was good, and was nice and quiet at this time of year. The breakfast offered was pretty good, overall a nice stay.

My husband and I decided to celebrate our wedding anniversary in Portugal. Having not been to Portugal before we decided on the Pinus Ria due to its location to airport and Villamura. As it was a special occassion we upgraded to a suite, bit disappointing as it could have done with an overhaul in the living area, pleased with the large bedroom and bathroom and airconditioning. Meal in restaurant first night a disaster returned meal twice, did not eat there again. Would not choose this resort again or recommend to others due to location taxis are a must if you do not hire a car even for the shortest of journeys. The staff were very helpful and courteous. Overall we had a lovely stay in the area as we found wonderful restaurants nearby, will return to Portugal again but will be more carefull of area. Maggie B Northern Ireland.

My husband and I were traveling by car throughout Portugal on our honeymoon, and booked 4 nights/5 days at Pinus Ria half way through our trip to recharge before the next leg of our journey. The rooms were clean, the staff very friendly and accommodating, and the breakfast, lunch and snacks were adequate. We dined at the restaurant for dinner the first night and enjoyed the experience so much that we decided to return for our final night. Much of our enjoyment was attributed to the staff who seemed to delight in helping us celebrate our honeymoon. The food was amazing, especially the first evening. We attempted to be daring by ordering a bit out of our comfort zone the second time, and unfortunately did not enjoy them as much - but this I'd attribute to our own finicky tastes than the quality of the food itself.
Of the overall experience, we were very pleased. The only criticisms are that the phone did not work for the first day and a half in our room, the toilet seemed wedged into its position between the counter & bathtub (to the point that the toilet paper couldn't be placed in its holder, and my husband's shoulders were far too broad for a comfortable "seating"), and that upon check out, the gentleman who assisted us did not communicate to us whatsoever, but left us standing there wondering why two other couples were checked out in the time it took to process our payment without any explanation.
Still, we would recommend the Pinus Ria for a comfortable, (yet basic) resort stay. We enjoyed our time there very much.
