The Hotel Principe (Best Western) is located facing the city square (and our room with its little balcony faced the square). This was a walk-in booking and we were not disappointed with anything except that the hotel does not have a restaurant open for dinner. Then we found out one of the reasons why...a delightful surprise. The owner made reservations for us at a small side-street restaurant about a five minute walk from the hotel. If this had been France we would call this a bistro. The food and ambience were both outstanding. We noted that the owner seemed to resemble the hotel owner.......and sure enough, when we asked the next morning we learned that she is his sister (talk about keeping it in the family!). But be that as it may the recommendation was right on target for our needs and tastes so we were happy. One thing we have learned is that Best Western in Europe is often very very different from Best Western in the US.

The hotel reception staff were exceptionally polite and efficient. I was shown to my room and shown how the air conditioner worked etc. The room was larger than expected, beautifully decorated and furnished and had plenty of wardrobe space, a bench for a suitcase, 2 upholstered armchairs, a desk and chair, a double bed, safe, minbar, tv, adsl socket (free) etc etc. The bathroom was like something out of a design magazine. Just in case you think I'm too full of praise it was disapointing that the multi nozzled shower unit did not work properly. I got a decent shower but missed out on the pummelling the cabinet promised. The coffee making set lacked sugar and milk (or teabags). The minibar was very low on stock and only had 1 beer in it. Breakfast was little better than average for the area but the staff were very friendly. The hotel and particularly the reception staff managed to make me feel special....and not many hotels achieve that nowadays!

Nice hotel in a great location, good places to eat in short walking distance. Hotel staff went out of their way to help, even carried our bags to our car in the rain.

We spent a night in Cuneo after a two-week trip around Italy. We were kind of tired and therefore we were more sensitive to faults or inconveniences… but we could not find any on Hotel Principe. Location was perfect, easy to find in the very centre of the town. The room was nice and comfortable, with an attention to detail that made you forget that you were in an almost 200-year-old building. Two equipment details that we appreciated: remote-controlled air conditioning and a shower cabin with half a dozen water jets. The staff was truly professional and provided us with good advice on restaurants.

Schönes Hotel in toller Lage, gute Restaurants in der Nähe. Die Angestellten haben sich stets bemüht und habe sogar unsere taschen durch den Regen zum Auto gebracht.
