"The Hotel Cinema is everything the prior reviewer said and more. The greatest surprise is the high level of personal service. I had difficulty with my wireless connection and the night manager spent hours downloading software that fixed the problem. The location, in the heart of the modern historic..."

My favorite hotel in Tel Aviv

I?ve been to Tel Aviv a few times. The last time, April 2008, I decided to stay at Cinema Hotel after reading the reviews and looking at the website and the location. And I wasn't disappointed. The hotel is very beautiful , a Bauhaus building that was a movie theatre, so the decor is cinema-based. There are 2 big movie projectors there, among other things. Good breakfast, awesome location, right on Dizengoff Square, very clean, good beds. I will travel to Tel Aviv again soon, and I hope this hotel will have vacancy.

Nice hotel in central location

I stayed here whilst working in Tel Aviv for three nights in June. The initial reservation was probably harder than it should have been - I had to wait for the Atlas reservation centre to reopen after the weekend before they would confirm that my room was definitely booked. So I did not find out until the Sunday and I arrived on the Monday evening. Despite that the reservation and check in staff were very polite and helpful, keen to provide maps and information on things to see. The hotel is centrally located - its not near the beach (which is about a 10 min walk) but it is near Dizengoff square for shopping. The rooms were just ok - they were clean and adequately furnished but a little dark. However it faced on to Zina Square, so it was quiet, and it had a lovely little balcony, which was nice to sit out on in the evenings. As I was there for work the free Wifi was a real bonus. I thought the breakfasts were fine, not amazing but better than adequate, contrary to some of the other reviewers. The best thing about this hotel is the building and cinema memorablia, the free popcorn in reception, the posters in the breakfast room and the 4th floor lounge / sauna / roof top terrace. I would return to this hotel if I were to return to Tel Aviv.

Ok so I must admit that the hotel is not that bad. I have stayed there several times with friends because it was in our budget and it was acceptable...nothing too fancy. Our only complaint at the time was the breakfast but the rooms were fine. HOWEVER, my parents are visiting now and I called to make the three of us a reservation. I was on the phone with them until 2am and was given a rate and told that in the morning I would be called for a credit card number. No one called me so I called back and talked to the manager who told me that the rate I was given DID NOT EXIST! I was going to be charged $60 more! I was called a liar and yelled at. After this I was called by the guy who took my reservation and yelled at once again (without reason.) because he was yelled at by his boss. I told him that he has lost a customer and that I have never been treated like this and he said that he didn't care about losing a liar! All I did was repeat the rate from the night before! I have never in my life experienced anything like this. I live in Israel and travel a lot and am a pretty reasonable person but this was absolutely horrible!! I cannot imagine how they think it is ok to run a business that way screaming at a girl who is just trying to help her parents out!!!

Just back from the Cinema Hotel and can't recommend it enough. Great, interesting location, cool building and reasonable rates. But even better, really helpful staff.

Lovely hotel, but overbooked

The hotel is really stylish and very nice - an old cinema, very clean, helpfull staff, nice breakfast. Internet, rooms have balconies. It is lovated at Gizengoff Square, which is very close to the center with all the nice shops and restaurants. However, when I arrived they were overbooked and had re-booked me with another hotel /The TAL), which was not nice at all. I had to (-----) around a lot the next day to get into the Cinema at all. However, besides that, I would recommend the CINEMA! They also offer a free bicycle rental for hotel guests by the way.
