My friends and I booked this hotel for a 2 night stay a little over a year ago. We chose this hotel based mainly on location and quality. In the end, the Dante exceeded our expectations on both. This hotel is located right in the middle of Lugano's main shopping and dining area. The casino, lake and park are a short walk away. Even though it is in the middle of the town center, it is very accessible by car and has a parking garage for guests at reasonable rates. If you choose to come by public transportation the main trainstation is a short walk away as is the main bus station. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. We were very impressed with the breakfast buffet included in our rate. Anything you could possibly want to eat is available.

The Dante is one of the very best hotels we have ever stayed at, even rating it amongst the usual high standard of Swiss hotels. Easy access from the railway station via the funicular railway and centrally located. Friendly, helpful staff. Excellent in room amenities. The most comprehensive breakfast spread I have ever seen. Highly recommended.

It was very easy to get to the hotel (via funicular from the train station), the rooms were clean& tastefully decorated, the breakfast buffet was the best we had in our entire 3 week stay in Switzerland and northern Italy, and the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

I absolutely loved this hotel. They pay such close attention to small details and the staff is so hospitable. We booked a double but were upgraded to a junior suite (perhaps because I was booking through my firm). Among other things, they had complimentary passes to Lido di Lugano for us to go swimming, complimentary bus passes and complimentary welcome drinks. The staff is so friendly and helpful. For example, my mom wanted to go to the Botanical Gardens and she got lost on her way there. When they asked her how the Gardens were and she told them she got lost, they went online and printed out specific directions and a bus schedule for her. The lobby was very comfortable - a great place to take a rest and have a coffee or tea to get out of the sun. The rooms were comfortable, albeit a little small, but this is Europe :) Breakfast was excellent. Although you could certainly eat without abandon, they had many healthy options available which I really appreciated. I would definitely stay again and recommend to others.
