If you're looking for a good business hotel in Rotterdam but hate that soulless corporate atmosphere, try the ParkHotel. My client booked me in there (as they do many of their visitors), so I didn't see the bill - but I imagine my room was middle of the range. Even so it was modern, clean, spacious and quiet - everything you'd want of a decent room for a night. Downstairs, the ambience is contemporary, quite stylish, and with a good convivial bar (and an obliging barman). Indeed all the staff I encountered seemed pleased to be there, and pleased to see you. I'll be happy to return.

We went to Rotterdam for the annual film festival and normally we just go home because we live about half an hour from Rotterdam but this time we booked for this very nice hotel. The last movie ended almost at midnight and the next morning we had to be in the cinema at 9.30 so we didn't have a long night.
So we checked in late, got a free drink, slept very OK, had a nice breakfast all for 110 euro for 2 people. Room was very nice with balcony and garden view.
For sure we will be back next year!

d'1 lit 2 places. Pensez à le préciser à la reservation.

We stayed with one colleague 2 weeks in Rotterdam. The room was quite big, with a nice bathroom. The desk personnel was quite nice and we didn't suffer from any inconvenience at this hotel. But don't expect to find a wonderfull hotel, this hotel is just correct.
I was surprised that Rotterdam was a really nice city.

Nice if you get a modern room

I stayed for 3 nights on business. I often stay in Rotterdam, and have also tried the Hilton, Westin and Golden Tulip. I think the Westin is certainly the most luxurious and modern, but is very impersonal and expensive. I prefer the Bilderberg for its quieter location and more intimate atmosphere.
I think the reason for the wildly contrasting previous reviews are dependant on which room the reviewer stayed in. This hotel consists of several different buildings, some of which date from the 1920's, and some of which are more modern. If you can stay in the modern rooms (buildings 5 and 6), you will have a very pleasant experience. If you stay in the old building, you may be disappointed. So make sure you ask for the right rooms when booking !
Anyway, now for the review:
Check in and out were very pleasant and efficient, and the staff very helpful.
The hotel decoration is quite bland but pleasant. My room (in building 6) was quite large with a separate desk and table, and a large bathroom. All fixtures and fittings clean and new. Bed was very comfortable. Windows did not open, but the aircon was great (important as the outside temp was 34C !). No discernable noise.
The bar was very pleasant, quite pricy, the menu (and also the roomservice menu) was quite limited, but the food was good.
I did not dine in the restaurant, but it looked nice - there is a leafy garden terrace at the back. Buffet breakfast was faultless - it was a bit crowded at times though.
Hotel is in a nice location overlooking a tree-lined street, much better than the Hilton or Westin 'downtown' area. Also a very short walk to bars and restaurants in Witte de Withstraat and Nieuwe Binnenweg.
I would choose this hotel again if I return to Rotterdam. Only pity is the lack of Hilton points!
