We have just returned after one weeks AI stay at the sol morromar. The location is great as it is only 10 mins from the airport (8 euro by taxi), 5 mins to peurto del carmen (4 euro). It is located at a bit of a hill but to be honest lanzarote is a hilly Island, and most resorts have this issue. The rooms were basic, and clean, plenty of hot water at peak times, lots of channels on the tv, a decent balcony. We didn't have any insect problems either. The rooms were cleaned every other day, although they could call rather early some days. The food was decent, and with the usual selection, and variety you expect with AI. Snacks were good around the pool, with several options offered depending on the day. The entertainment was amusing although this usually started at 10pm, and with the bar closing at 11pm for AI (paid drinks after this time) we were shocked that most acts went on for an hour then finding the drinks had finished. After our first night we got in earlier, although even when we were late we were still served complimentary drinks after the 11pm. The main pool area was great with the pool temperature being quite pleasant, not ice cold as some reviews suggest, I suppose it depends when you go though. We had a glorious week of temps 25c, this may have influenced the water temperature. The gym was a bit of a disappointment, dark, and not much equipment, and the jacuzzi was closed for repairs. (most) staff were really helpful with reception booking several trips for us not directly associated to the apartments. Overall I would say the sol morromar was great value for money, and would recommend this complex to those looking for good value for money, families or couples.

Just come back from a 10 day all inclusive stay at the sol morromar, we booked last minute for my partners 50th birthday and paid 390 each. First impressions were ok, got to our room but had to change as our beds were covered in ants! second room was fine with a fantastic sea- view. Food was the main downfall as it was always luke warm or cold, the choice was adaquate though fussy eaters would find it a problem, entertainment was virtually non-existent, though we usually sit and chat with people we meet anyway so it wasnt a big problem. Jaquzzi did not work, niether did the gym, pools were freezing. This property is not in puerto-del-carmen its in matagorda, it costs 5 euro in a taxi to get to carmen. It is about 5/10 mins walk to the small beach with bars, shops restaurants, which is very pleasant. pool bar closes at 6pm then you have no outdoor seating area at night, so we had to take the tables and chairs out from the inside, which the staff do not like you doing. All in all i would probably not go back to this aparthotel, but it was ok for what we wanted and the resort was nice.

Having read some of the other reviews on this site I was a little unsure of what to expect from Sol Morromar, but I have to say I have just arrived home from an absolutely fabulous short stay here. The apartment was spacious, very clean and nicely decorated. There were two nice, clean pools which were refreshing in the 25 degree heat. The apartment complex was very peaceful and relaxing, but lively enough to make you feel welcome and entertained. Staff were very helpful and booked excursions for us as well as being very friendly behind the bar. The location is fantastic - a very pleasent, short stroll to the beautiful beach where there are several bars / shops. There is a taxi rank located literally behind the apartments and the ride into the Puerto Del Carmen is very quick and cheap. We were not AI and so did not eat at the complex, but found there were many reasonable, varied options all within easy reach and we had some very nice meals. Overall I would recommend these apartments to anyone looking for a nice, relaxing break in great surroundings in the sunshine.

Stayed at Sol Morromar for a week AI with my family. I was apprehensive after reading some of the reviews but I was extremely pleased with the apartment complex. The apartments were clean and spacious and the complex itself was again very clean and bright. There are 2 pools, with the main pool having a pool bar and seating area available for snacks and drinks throughout the day. The other pool is in a more relaxed area and has by the looks of it a snacks bar although this was not open as it was not height of the season. The food is great and you should not be put off by the other reviews. For breakfast you can opt for english style ( bacon, eggs etc ) or continental style with a choice of cereals and fruit aswell. There are snacks available in the pool bar from 11.00 till 6.00 and these change daily. The All inclusive options tend to be sandwiches, salads and hot dogs although you can purchase other snacks for a charge. The lunch starts at 1.00 and finishes at 3pm. There are plenty of salads and meat/cheeses together with hot dishes aswell. Dinner is much the same as lunch but there is more choice of hot dishes and desserts. There is also ice cream available for you throughout the day. There is childrens entertainment throughout the day and there is also an adult programme available including scuba diving, however as it was low season there was not enough people for this to take place. The evening entertainment is what you would expect for hotel entertainment and was a good laugh. The complex itself is only 5 minutes walk from the beach and the bus stop that can take you into Puerto del carmen. The fare is about 1 euro. I would definetly recommend the Sol Morromar for a great holiday at a fantastic price.

If you need to lose some weight go all inclusive at Sol Morromar. Food was cold/tepid and either under or over cooked. Villa basic, but ok. Staff were helpful and tried their best, and were willing to try to sort things out. The main problem was the poor food. Runny scrambled egg, over cooked boiled eggs - they were scorched where the pan had boiled dry, runny fried eggs - the list just goes on and on - and this is breakfast! Every meal was poor - except for the day the Health inspectors turned up - that night the food was warmer and a freezer was installed a couple of days afterwards to keep the ice cream cold instead of mushy.. Loved the pools, but only swam once as pool too cold - ditto jacuzzi. Loved Lanzarote - but would never ever go to Sol Morromar again - unless needed to lose weight!
