We absolutely loved this hotel and you will too!! Have stayed at other Ritz Carltons, (Kuai, Cancun, San Francisco, Westlake Village, etc.), but this is by far our favorite. So nice to have that wonderful Ritz Carlton service and comfort in a small boutique environment. Location is awesome, staff is courteous, rooms are comfy-we look forward to visiting this property again - would never stay anywhere else in D.C. now that we have been to this Ritz!! Our family of four was very comfy in the one bedroom (double bedded) suite, complete with 1 and a half bathrooms and large living area. Breakfast at Fahrenheit restaurant in the hotel was delicious!!!!!!!!

There were definitely some highlights to my stay at the Ritz Carlton, as well as few unfortunate lowpoints. First, the decor is really stunning. The lobby, bar and restaurant are all chic without being off-putting. My friend and I were there for a girl's weekend away and we had a comfortable, quiet room with two double beds. The bathroom was gorgeous and included an extra-deep soaking tub. I had a late dinner at the restaurant the first night and was very impressed with the attentive service and the quality of the food. We also enjoyed two different spa treatments, and we both came away raving about them. The prenatal smoothie exfoliation was exactly what my winter skin needed, and the massage therapist was very friendly and polite. The lowpoints however were entirely related to the front desk staff. With the exception of the woman who checked me in on Friday evening I found them to be all more than a little bit clueless and some downright rude. One staffer when asked if there was a drugstore within walking distance told us no. Needless to say, we ended up finding a large CVS less than 5blocks from the hotel. She also gave us an incorrect address for a museum, resulting in a long walk for us. When the bill was presented a charge from the bar was submitted twice, and the included breakfast was also listed as a charged meal. Her first response was not, "Oh that's wrong, I'll fix that," but "Of course there's a mistake. Here's why... the computer is broken, etc. etc." It took way too long to get to the point. A different desk manager turned a simple request for a toothbrush into an opportunity to hit on my friend and made it seem like he was hoping for a tip for turning around and opening a drawer. We wondered if he was a bartender at a strip club the rest of the week. The capper was the bellman who upon being asked for a taxi signaled a non-regular cab over and told us the car was "special". It was special alright - the guy wouldn't go to the stop we asked him to and then wanted us to name the price we wanted to pay. The next day the bellman tried the same routine but when I asked for a licensed cab he started to argue with me until I told him to zip it. I'm sure he's getting a kick-back from the other company, "Sphinx Limousine". There were no free rides provided by the hotel, not to and from the airport, train station or any other destination, so maybe this was a service that they have since discontinued, but I thought it strange that they did not offer any shuttles. The hotel wanted $75 to arrange for a cab in advance from Union station to the property. I ended up taking a regular cab when I got off the train and paid $15 including a $5 tip. Overall it was a nice experience, but I have to wonder if they deliberately schedule their B team of front desk staff for the weekends when the business people are gone. It would not be my first choice for my next trip to DC, but it wouldn't be my last either.

The Ritz Carlton Georgetown is by far one of my favorite boutique hotels in the world. I'll get the one negative point out of the way first: horrible cell phone reception everywhere in the hotel (you'll notice desperate patrons standing by the glass windows in the lobby trying to get a signal as it's really the only place to get reception in the entire hotel). BUT WHO CARES? The hotel is STILL amazing: Perfectly set in Georgetown, downtown DC's most charming area, the Ritz Carlton provides everything you'd be looking for in a unique luxury boutique hotel. It is a renovated incinerator with an enormous fireplace in the lobby that burns 24 hours a day providing the most perfectly faint smell of mesquite/firewood you could hope for. Snuggle up to the fireplace with a good book -- one of their many service staff will bring you WHATEVER you need whether it's a fabulous cocktail or a healthy fruit plate or a club sandwich. Mo and Raul run the "Front of the House" and make you feel like you live there. Enjoy the Ritz's small, but perfectly adequate, fitness center for a quick workout and round out a relaxing day with a massage in their boutique spa. You can follow that up with an extremely satisfying shower -- bathrooms in all room types are absolutely top notch with high pressure showers, soft linens and designer bath products. I highly recommend bellying up to the bar at "Degrees" and having a cold beer and appetizers while watching whatever game is on that day… very friendly bartenders; great vibe and solid food (share the club sandwich with fries if you're a party of 2). When you're ready to retire for the day, you'll melt when your head hits your pillow -- absolutely a top-notch bed with luxury bedding. LOVE LOVE LOVE the Ritz Georgetown…going back any chance I get.

Well, It is a Ritz hotel and it is very nice. In my opinion, I thought it was just OK. For the price I expected more. The room we had was a little on the small side but the bathroom was amazing. The king size bed was very very comfortable and the location in Georgetown is within walking distance to great shopping. Note that if you do need ride somewhere they have a free driver that will take you to where you want to go. Like I said it was OK but for the price look elsewhere.

Stayed 3 nights at the Ritz-Carlton Georgetown in November, 2007. A boutique hotel. In a quiet location just a couple of short blocks from the center of bustling M Street. Room overlooking 31st Street was quiet with muffled street noise and Reagan Airport fly-over noise. No voices or sounds from adjoining rooms. Recent conversion of an old brick "incinerator building". Conversion nicely done--appealing architecture inside and out that fits character of Georgetown. Had a premier room that was relatively small by luxury standards. Dim lights, none adequate for reading. Requested 3-way floor lamp that allowed me to read. Inadequate drawers, only 3 astonishingly small drawers. Very comfortable king bed. Very nice, spacious bath with separate shower. One, not-too-comfortable chair. Very pleasant restaurant. I only had breakfast there which was fine. Had outstanding dinner at Seasons restaurant in nearby Four Seasons hotel. Also very good Italian dinner at Cafe Milano on Prospect Street, just off of Wisconsin. Circulator bus on M Street runs frequently and connects to all sights for $1 per trip. Took to Union Station at end of stay. For arrival from Dulles, took 5A Metro bus from airport to Rosslyn Metro station, then taxi from across from station to hotel. I liked staying in Georgetown. I got used to the room size as my stay went on and ended up being satisfied with my room and the hotel overall.
