I stayed at the Red Roof Inn in Buckhead/Druid Hills during my visit to Atlanta. I stayed there for one night and moved to the NIGHTMARE Super 8 Midtown. It was located closer to downtown. After one night there, I retreated back to the Red Roof Inn. The few extra dollars I had to spend there are well worth it. The other motel shows up on all the discount sites, but dont bother. It's only about a 5-10 minute highway drive and you will be much happier staying at the nice and clean Red Roof Inn.
I have noticed that a lot of the Red Roof Inn chain has updated their hotels. They have done a very good job. Everything feels nice and new. The bedding has improved along with the service. Beware, not all Red Roofs are remodeled. Some have been partially remodeled. Usually their website shows pix of what that specific location looks like. If the picture has red/blue comtemporary bedspreads along with silver accent touches then its a complete remodel.
The only downside is the internet. Apparently, TMobile and Red Roof Inn have a deal for wireless internet. now You must buy a Tmobile net card to use the internet. A card cost $10 a day or pay $20 for a week. (u can use the cards at starbucks, kinkos and where ever else TMobile has a hotspot) You can purchase the King Business suite for $5-10 more a night and it includes internet. Most hotels in this price range have FREE internet. The wireless internet drops A LOT!
If your looking for a friendly staff, nice/clean rooms and usually great locations, you'll enjoy your stay at this hotel.

We stayed here for one night and enjoyed our stay. It wasn't incredible nor was it bad. Definately a decent place to stay if you're looking for budget lodging.
The only low point I had with the hotel was that I had to actually get the iron from the front desk. It'd be nice to have it already in my room, but oh well. What do you expect for $50/night.
It is about 2 miles from the Lenox Square mall which is a very nice area with plenty of shopping and eating options.

My husband and I just returned from a visit to the Atlanta area. We stayed at the Red Roof Inn in the North Druid Hills area for 3 nights. The hotel room was very comfortable and clean and the bed was great, we both slept really well. The location was perfect, right near the highway and close to pretty much everything. Check out the Atlanta Diner (about 2 minutes away) for breakfast. They have the best Challah French Toast. If you are looking for a great stay for economy lodging the Red Roof Inn, North Druid Hills cannot be beat.

We had a reservation for three nights in December. We were driving
for 10 hours and around 8:00 pm we called the hotel line that was specifically for help with "directions to the hotel". The woman at the front desk gave us totally wrong directions. While driving around to find the hotel I called again to double check on the directions. The same lady reassured that the directions were right. Thirty minutes later I called again and the lady admitted that she gave wrong directions. When inquired further on how come she could be so careless she yelled at me and hung up on me. I called again and again but there was no reply. Third time she picked up the phone. I told her that we are still driving around to find the hotel, she said we should have looked at map quest before we left home. When I asked for a manager she said that there is no manager there and hung up on me again. Appalled by her rudeness we decided to stay in another hotel hotel by the side of the highway. Next morning I talked with a manager who apologized and sent me a coupon for one night free stay at any red roof inns.
This is my first appalling encounter with a hotel staff!
