I stayed here December 27-28th. This hotel is excellent. I had no problems.
I chose this hotel after reading reviews of all hotels off the Seigen exit, up Seigen Ln/Sherwood to I-12. It was imperative that my hotel be comfortable, safe, and above all, quiet. This hotel had the fewest negative comments, as far as I could tell.
In terms of fit'n'finish it is on the level of a typical new roadside inn. That is, of reasonable quality, clean, new, comfortable but not luxurious. It is a solid 3 stars.
The area appears quite safe, with restaurants and Wal-Mart and the like near by.
Check in was very smooth, with a very professional desk clerk.
The room was very quiet. I did not notice any neighbors.
The rooms are large, and resemble a small studio apartment with a living room and a separate bedroom. The bed, and the living room furniture were new, clean, and comfortable. The linens were crisp and appeared very sanitary. The bathroom was very clean.
Of note is that the water in this facility is very soft. Therefore, soap is difficult to rinse off, and may leave your skin feeling "slippery." If this is a problem, it may be useful to bring your own synthetic body wash.
Nice features are the full kitchen in the room, complete with dishes and pots/pans. Also, there is a medium-sized fridge. If you leave a grocery list with the front desk, the hotel will shop for you, and leave the groceries in the room for the actual price of the items.
The hotel provides a full breakfast included in the price. Everything from scrambled eggs to waffles is available. This is a very nice feature. There is also a "cocktail hour" in the evening.
If you smoke, the hotel is fully non-smoking, and will charge $250 for smoking in the room.
I received a good deal at $97 a night. The room is worth about that, all in all. Given the amenities, location, and degree of competition, one really shouldn't have to pay more.

Very pleased with the "suite" room set up. The room was separate from the living & mini-kitchen. This worked well when we had family meeting us over the Holiday. The location was across town from our family, so we had to travel a little. But I felt very safe and it was located near Super Wal-Mart and near the mall of Louisiana. I walked to the shopping center while my husband slept and I felt completely safe. We enjoyed the daily breakfast and free local papers. The sofa pulled out to a bed, so some relatives slept over rather than drive home across town. We enjoyed our stay, even having a small child. I've only stayed at the Baton Rouge Holiday Inn outside rooms and thought those rooms were terrible. I highly suggest checking out this hotel

We stayed at the Residence Inn on Siegen Lane on two different occasions. The first time was the week of August 20th, 2007. We were in Baton Rouge on a house hunting trip. We were originally booked at another chain. After checking in we went to our room, took one look and knew immediately that there was no way we could stay at that hotel. We called the Residence Inn from the other hotel and were told that they had a room for two nights, but couldn't guarantee a room beyond that because there was a tropical depression in the coast and all of their rooms were already booked. We decided to take the chance. We were not at all disappointed. The people at check-in were very nice. The room was clean. The breakfast was great as well as the evening happy hour. Our stay was extended for four more nights with no problem. We stayed again the week of September 24th, but this time with our dog and cat. There is a $100 non-refundable pet fee. The staff was great once again.

What a great place to stay! We love the newly renovated rooms and the friendly staff. The breakfast had a wonderful variety. The rooms were extremely clean and spacious. I would stay here again and recommend it to anyone traveling to Baton Rouge.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom/2 bath suite with another couple and their child. We each had our own space but could visit in the livingroom/kitchen area. It had a wonderful little kitchen and even a fireplace. It was a short trip but would have loved to stay a lot longer. The linens looked so clean and fresh! It was a great place to stay for the money. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.
