Rooms nice, but recent changes not so good!

Been here six times in the last three years. Rooms are always nice and clean. If that's all you require this is your place.
Now the bad:
During my recent stay we were served meals for our business meetings...they were below average, all fried food.
Breakfast buffet is okay, but really slipped on the last visit.
Bar, two thumbs down. While the staff is very nice, the pool table and other items have been removed, which made for some angry fellow guests who had to spend three days in a town with little to do.
Their wirelss service is bad, bad, bad! Even in their meeting rooms the service could not maintain VPN connection, very frustrating when you have 20-25 people who have traveled hundreds of miles to have a business meeting.

I stayed here on business recently, just a short night, but the community of Marshalltown should be pleased to have a full-service hotel like this one in town.
The hotel is of the "Holiday Inn numberous cooridoors/long hallways" era, but has been well kept up. The walk from the lobby to the rooms goes way past the ballrooms, but there are plenty of lots around the building so you don't have to haul bags for the long distances.
The rooms were big, very nicely decorated and looked as if they were recently updated. The carpet was very nice and everything was adeqate.
The bathroom always seems to be the place where age shows, but the bathroom at the Regency was also nicely updated and well maintained.
The price was a corporate rate, but seemed reasonable. If you're traveling Hwy 30 in Iowa, I'd suggest it as an overnight stop (right off the Highway) or a nice little getaway for the family - there's a good sized pool!
By the way, Marshalltown is a great community. Very forward thinking and prosperous, so there are several food choices (a lot of authentic Mexican, Zeno's Pizza and chains - Perkins, Applebee's, etc.).

Stayed at the Best Western for 2 nights in mid-July. Wonderful Hotel! The front desk and housekeeping staff were great. The room was super clean, quiet, everything we needed. Nice pool area. And the kids especially loved having a 'Custards' restaurant right next store for late night ice cream runs!

Took our family to the motel for an overnight stay to get rid of the winter blues. We had an excellent stay. The staff was wonderful, rooms were comfortable and clean. We will definitely be back for more family outings and recommend family and friends to stay.

We stayed at the Best Western for a convention and really loved the location. It was easy to get to, clean and had resonalbly priced rooms.
There was a lot to do in this town too - shopping and a community theater were great surprises!
