"My wife and I stayed at the hotel for two nights to celebrate our wedding anniversary. On arrival I was very impressed the hotel looked amazing. On entering the reception area there were plenty of guests around, which is always a good sign and the receptionist was most helpful, she even arranged for..."

First of all take note of all the other bad reviews. We stayed for 1 night attending a Wedding function. The entrance to the hotel looks impressive, with electric gates, on entering into the grounds the hotel looks fantastic it has really got the wow factor. What a false impression that was. We were shown straight to the ballroom for the Wedding reception which again was out of this world with great big chandeliers and views across what looked like beautiful grounds. How wrong could we be. We were lead out to the gardens for the photos, to be confronted with patio chairs with bird droppings which looked like it had been there for some months. The grass was unkept and pergola the same condition as the patio chairs. There was broken glass everywhere. Plants non existant, just overgrown bushes. It was a lovely sunny day, but whilst back in the ballroom for our meal everyone was too hot as there was no air conditioning. The staff were rude and not at all helpful. The meals that was ordered didnt turn up on time, and they totally forgot about the childrens meals, after numerous times of asking they eventually got the main meal but we never saw the ice cream. As the evening went on the rooms got hotter and hotter, we asked for airconditoning to be put on but our request was never made. A lot of the guests had to go outside to cool off but had no where to sit. The drinks are very expensive and not served with a smile. The toilets are broken and run down. The hotel room was a nice family room, which had been refurbished but the bed was awful. lumpy and hard pillows. We went down for breakfast, which is a very small room for the size of the hotel. All the tables were taken, but the waiters never approached us, so we decided to sit in the ballroom which is next door with our breakfast and told we couldnt sit there. After asking where can we sit then, they reluctantly made two more tables up in another small room. The service was appalling, we had to wait ages for tea and coffee which was served with out milk and sugar. When we asked for sugar they gave us a big jar sprinkler. Also how could we eat without knives and forks. The staff are a joke. We felt that the hotel was badly run and the staff were unhelpful and badly trained. On check out there were other people complaining about the attitude of one of the staff. This hotel is very expensive and you would expect a lot better for your money. We felt uncomfortable and not wanted. As if it was closing time and they were kicking you out, When we should have been encouraged and welcomed as we were there for such a lovely special event. Dont spoil your wedding day buy booking here.

I have to stay frequently in Wolverhampton overnight and usually stay at the Novotel. On this occasion I tried the Ramada - a big mistake. After reading the reviews, I realise the experience may be governed by whether you get a refurbished room or not??. I obviously was unlucky here and ended up with the most god-awful room I think I have ever stayed in. It was shabby, dirty and smelled of stale curry (from the restaurant below). There was no mirror in the bathroom, although the fixings were still there. The TV didn't work properly and even though I complained, the person sent to see to this never arrived. The bed was hard and lumpy that I could feel the springs digging into me all night. I was kept awake by the noise from the Kavi restaurant til about 1am. Two points on the plus side, most of the staff tried to be friendly and helpful; leaving the hotel in the morning gave me quite a feeling of euphoria. I would never go back - even if it was the last hotel room in Wolverhampton. Absolutely awful.

Such a strange place, a mix of nice and nasty (mostly nasty). The "delightful grounds" are reasonably pleasant at the back of the hotel. But the front is just one big car park, and the sides (which our room overlooked) are literally waste ground, tastefully converted into a rubbish tip. Still, it didn't look quite so bad in the morning, after a liberal coating of snow. Accessibility was awful. We had a 6-month-old baby with us, along with pram etc. Getting to our room (ground floor, family room) involved going up a whole load of stairs, through various corridors, up and down more stairs, and all over the place. When the restaurant and various function rooms were shut, we were allowed to take a slightly easier route through them, via the toilets, to get to the room. We found it much easier to climb in and out of the patio window to get to the car park, most of the time... Quality of the room decor was fine, but the bed was simply awful and vomit-stained (I slept on the floor one night, it was more comfortable...). The bathroom was in poor repair (taps that turn on fine, but spin ineffectually when trying to turn off; leaky shower screen, etc. etc.) Soundproofing was virtually non-existent, and the hotel seems famed for its noisy functions - so we didn't get to sleep on the Fri night until past 3am due to rowdy guests running up and down the corridors shouting and knocking on doors. Even the food was a mixed bag. Kavi (the in-house curry restaurant) was delicious - possibly the best curry we've ever had. But 'Chic', the alternative in-house restaurant, is best steered clear of - at least, judging from the crappy breakfasts, we didn't dare risk it. If you choose to stay at this hotel - I wish you luck. You'll need it.

I was attending a wedding at the hotel, My best friend booked the room for me , finding the hotel was a bit confussing as its situated in housing estate. but once i got there it was beautifully!! it is an old manor house on the outside , buts its so classi and modern on the inside . as I checked in i welcomed by a helpfully and polite receptionist -Gemma potts.i was assisted with my luggage to my room with a porter. who couldnt help me enough during my stay. My room was a family room for single occupancy - it has large patio doors which over looked the hotel gardens- the room was larger then the normal double rooms and had a sofa to relax and watch tv on the 26 inch lcd flat screen!! Nice !!! the wedding was in the ballroom- its wow - !!! what a fantstic room !! the wedding went great !! it ran smoothly and on time !! if I ever get married this would be my wedding venue !! have a look on the web pages !! my overall stay was great and i would recommend this hotel to any one !!
