Went to this hotel on a Majestic five day break. Cannot praise the hotel enough. Food adequate and excellntly cooked, staff first rate, and the entertainment very good will be returning to the hotel for the tinsel and turkey break, Should any one be interested the Closed shopping arcade in Tunbridge Wells has a mobilty scooter hire shop called shopmobility bottom floor, far end on the right and side. The scooter can be used outside the sopping mall.

I stayed on business mid week, in a refurbished single room with a sea view. ?25 including a lovely breakfast in the "conservatory" restaurant. The hotel is a typical, rambling Victorian building with staircases and doors aplenty. I got lost twice trying to find my way out ! The communal areas are a little dated and the hotel was full of golden oldies on a coach tour when I stayed. The reception staff are polite and efficient. The room was small but clean, albeit the bed was ancient and a bit squueky. A five minute walk to the town centre along the prom overlooking the pier was nice. For ?25, including a freshly cooked breakfast, you really can't complain.

We stayed there for 2 nights and found it very comfy, the bedroom was dated but was cosy. I find it strange that in 2007 you could only get 4 tv chanels. The staff were friendly and polite. The breakfast was the smallest I've ever seen but very tasty. We paid £50 for 2 including the breakfast, so not bad value.

We were forced to take pot-luck in Eastbourne when the hotel we had booked turned out to be unsuitable for my disabled mother. This hotel exists almost entirely on the coach party trade and is very poor value for guests paying the advertised rate. The public areas are OK, but our rooms were very poor. The whole place has the drab look of having been repainted many times but never actually renovated. The only positive thing to comment on is the Conservatory restaurant overlooking the sea front. The food is very acceptable and the staff are nice.

I recently worked as an independant hotel tester in London for 10 years so I know my stuff. Let me say from the start that as this is a 3 star hotel I'm reviwing it compared to other 3 star hotels. I'm now planning a Bowling group tour of about 50 people to Eastbourne and I am testing a few hotels. We stayed one night half board at the Langham. The present owners have had the place for 2 years now and boy they really know their business. They are bringing the best of London style to Eastbourne. They have redesigned and refurbished the Restaurant, Bar and lobby areas which are now bright and contemporary with a good standard of decor and furnishings. Most bedrooms have also been totally revampted. There are still a few bedrooms and some furnishings left to do and the place will be completely finished. Our room was good with a sea view although like all seafront hotels some rooms are at the back. The Hotel has a cool colour theme reflected in it's consevatory, sun parasols and staff uniforms. Staff are dedicated and friendly. A very important part of a good hotel is the Chef and kitchen team and again the Langham past the test. The menu was good, dishes created well and upgrade prices to an exciting la carte very reasonable. Dinner and breakfast were enjoyable experiences. In my job I don't say that very often.
