We visited San Diego and stayed at Quality inn; 1250 El Cajon Blvd.
The manager and all employees take personal interest in their guests: in short, they give their best and it shows. They make you feel welcome.
Beautifully done and kept rooms, good mattresses, cushy pillows and air conditioners that work.
THE MOST memorable array for breakfast.
Excellent price for what you receive in return.

Nine of us(5 adults, 2 teenagers, 2 children) stayed at the Quality Inn & Suites San Diego East in June of '07. We had two 2 room suites each with 2 full baths and 2 tv's. That was great because we wanted to be up and sight seeing early. No one had to get up extra early to use the shower. The breakfast was also great to start the day off quickly. It was within 20 minutes to all the attractions in the area. To the back of the inn there was a train across the road but the noise did not bother any of us. The inn was very clean. It was the perfect place to stay.

We stayed three nights as part of 8000 per night choicehotel points in Nov 2006. Rooms were okay size, nothing great. Two double beds and a chair/table with 19" TV (two hbo). Staff was friendly. There was no wireless broadband despite their website advertising it. Instead, they provided wired broadband kits (bridges) that can be connected to laptops. Broadband speed was quite decent. However, they have only 20 of them so better ask for one before checkin. Rooms were tidy and were cleaned daily. Shower was clean and had hot water all the time. Breakfast was pretty good.
Cons:
1) Half of the rooms are facing freeway and other half facing direct metro rail. So some level of noice is imminent.
2) Some dirty smell always emitted from few rooms closer to their back laundry service. Avoided walking through that area.
3) Worth only $50 motel kind of stay. If you are paying $90, shop around and use this as last resort.
Given three stars (average) due to the following:
1) friendly staff
2) nice breakfast
3) good broadband speed.

I stayed at this hotel for one night in July 2006. Very full due to all the major San Diego hotels being full. Odd smells and depressing area. Didn't feel very safe in the area, nor was the room especially clean. Wireless internet was VERY sporadic and difficult to get a signal, but when I did get a signal it was strong, however sporadic that it was. LONG check-in wait time in the lobby. For the price of $90 would not stay here again.

The best place in El Cajon

I have relatives who live in El Cajon, and so far i have found that this is the best place to stay at. The staff is excellent, they always go out of their way to provide us with the best serivce. The breakfast is with more items than i have seen in other places. They have great waffles which my daughter loves. The pool is clean and nice and the rooms are always clean and comofortable. I love this place and i will recommend it to anybody.
