My nephew and I stayed 2 nights at the hotel. It's in great walking distance to the main square and other sites. The hotel was very clean, and the front desk staff -- actually all staff -- were very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast buffet was excellent too.

The Astoria was a great spot. We stayed there May 28-30, 2008. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. As soon as we checked in they gave us a map, showed us where the main sites were, etc. We had a lovely spacious air cond suite with sitting area (sofa, chair, coffee table), king bed, complimentary turndown service with chocolates, large bathroom with full amenties (& nice toiletries). The hotel provided free access to internet on main floor.The very extensive hot & cold buffet. style breakfast was impressive. We were also impressed with the non-smoking room and floor (a rarity in Croatia). We didn't master the airconditioning (as we found it warm at night) but we never bothered to ask deskstaff either (so our fault for not enquiring!). We'd highly recommend the Astoria. JULOfrVan

stayed at this hotel for a weekend break the hotel is about 10 minutes walk to the centre the area the hotel is located in is a bit dull but do not let that put you off the hotel has been recently been refurbished and what a good job they have made every area of this hotel is of a high standard you will not be disappointed with this hotel and i would highly recommend it . the hotel is near to the railway station if you run out of things to do take a train into ljubljana capital of slovenia it takes a couple of hours and costs about ?16 return well worth a day trip

I stayed here two nights and was very impressed with the quality and condition of the hotel as well as the friendliness, helpfulness and professionalism of the staff. The hotel is in a good location relative to points of interest in Zagreb (only a 5 - 8 minute walk to parks and the cathedral) and the rooms are very comfortable. The breakfast buffet is included in the room rate and is probably the best I've experienced at any hotel. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.
